Gourmet fine chocolates are handmade for Halloween by artisan chocolatier Oliver Kita. New, original designs include the Wicked Witch of the East shoe in solid French Valrhona chocolate and hand decorated, and savory sweet garlic flavored creamy caramels covered in dark chocolate. Halloween treats include one-of-a-kind hand decorated chocolate covered apples and extra thick chocolate covered mallomars.

Oliver Kita (http://www.OliverKita.com/halloween.html) has created artisan chocolates for adults who want to enjoy the Halloween holiday with fine chocolates. His new collection, all made with Valrhona French chocolate, includes a solid chocolate wicked witch shoe, sweet savory garlic with chocolate caramel, ornately decorated chocolate apples and spooky ghosts.

The Kita Chocolate Halloween collection highlights the Wicked Witch of the East's shoe in solid gourmet 61% dark chocolate, each hand decorated with white milk chocolate buttons and natural colorants that provide an eerie glow. The toe is hand made pure marzipan and no two shoes are exactly alike. "Dorothy's red shoe would just be too common in comparison," said Kita.

Sweet, savory and chocolate may be the new buzz…but chocolate and garlic?? "Just for this Halloween season I created a Roasted Garlic Caramel that is very interesting, with a sensational taste of garlic that is sweet and soft," said Kita. Using full cream fresh caramels, he blended in a puree of sweet roasted garlic, and then dipped it all in Extra Bitter Dark Chocolate creating a never-before-experienced chocolate creation for Halloween.

Chocolate Valley Apples are not the usual simply dipped apples. Oliver Kita dipped apples in 65% chocolate, added a crown of caramelized almonds, and decorated the apples with chocolate leaves and fall colored ribbons. He uses four varieties of Hudson Valley fresh apples: Ida Red, Winesap, Gala, and Mutsu.

Kita said he felt "almost possessed" to make Phantom Ghosts, disguised in a dark chocolate robe and filled with either chocolate truffle or marzipan, and takes his favorite mallomars, and dips them in 65% dark chocolate for what he calls "the ultimate divine taste. "These are truly a decadent pleasure that comes only this time of year," added Kita.

Kita also has an organic line of chocolates (http://www.oliverkita.com/organic.html) for young and old alike who want the purest of chocolate and ingredients, that is also the result of fair trade.
All of artisan chocolatier Oliver Kita's Halloween creations can be found on his website at http://www.oliverkita.com/halloween.html and in his Hudson Valley New York boutique.
