Sunstone Hotel Investors has appointed Art Buser President with plans in 2009 to take over from company Founder Bob Alter as Chief Executive Officer. Buser replaces Steve Goldman who defected to Hilton nine months into the job. For the past eleven years, Buser served in various management roles with Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels Americas, most recently as Head of Global Hotel Capital Markets. A Cornell graduate, he previously worked in acquisitions and asset management at the Yarmouth Group and financial analysis at Hilton Hotels.
Wolf Hengst has been named Chairman of Wahanda, an all purpose spa-wellness company whose investors include Toronto hotel owner Tony Cohen. In 2006, Hengst retired from his position as President, Worldwide Hotel Operations, of Four Seasons after thirty years with the company.
At Hilton, Ross Klein joins from Starwood, where he served as President of the Luxury Brands Group (Luxury Collection, St. Regis, W). He had joined Starwood from Ralph Lauren in 2003, as Chief Marketing Officer for W. His role at Hilton will be to develop luxury and lifestyle brands.
Also at Hilton, and also coming from Starwood, is Amar Lalvani, who was its Senior Vice President, responsible for the development of its luxury brands. A coming home of sorts for Lalvani who, prior to joining Starwood, worked in mergers and acquisitions for Hilton owner Blackstone.
Rounding up the steering committee at Hilton, Richard Lucas joins as Executive Vice President and General Counsel. A Yale law school graduate, he comes from Washington D.C. where he was a partner in the hospitality law firm of Arnold and Porter.
The Morgans Hotel Group has appointed Howard Wein Senior Vice President of Food and Beverage. Wein, a Cornell graduate, was most recently the Chief Operating Officer of Starr Restaurants and founder and President of the Starr Restaurants Hotel Group since 2004. Previously, he worked for Starwood, most recently as Corporate Director of Food and Beverage for Westin.
Dennis Nau has joined Norwegian Cruise Line in Miami as Senior Vice President Operations. For the past 23 years, he held various executive positions with Marriott International, including managing the New York Marriott East Side, the New York Marriott Marquis and the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa. Most recently, he was serving at the corporate offices in Bethesda as Vice President, Global Brand Management-Full Service Brands.
MGM Mirage Hospitality has named Jim Mirha Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of Marriott International’s western region.
Robert Lowe, Jr. has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of the Lowe Hospitality Group, from his most recently position as President. He joined Lowe Enterprises in 1992 and was named president of Lowe Destination Development in 2003.
Brian Collins has been named President at Intrawest in Vancouver. He was most recently the Principal and Founder of Colgate Development and previously the Principal and Chief Operating Officer at Millennium Partners.
La Quinta has promoted Temple Weiss to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, to succeed Robert Harshbarger, who retired in May. Weiss joined La Quinta in 2001 and was most recently serving as Executive Vice President of Acquisitions and Development.
Global Hyatt has named Harmit Singh Chief Financial Officer. After fourteen years, Singh departs from Yum! Brands where he was most recently the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer – International. Prior to joining Yum!, he worked in various financial capacities for American Express India.
Hansjoerg Maissen has been promoted to Asset Manager for Cap Juluca. Maissen has served as General Manager of Cap Juluca on an interim basis over the past eighteen months. He previously held the post of Vice President Hospitality for the Irvine Company. He was also the General Manager for Orient Express\' Windsor Court in New Orleans and was the General Manager for seven years at the Grand Hotel du Cap-Ferrat.
The Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino has named Douglas Lentz Chief Operating Officer, taking over from current Chief Operating Officer, Brian Parrish. Lentz was most recently the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of the Santa Ysabel Resort and Casino.
Janis Clapoff has returned to California as Managing Director of the Ojai Valley Inn and Resort, reuniting with her former Executive Chef from San Ysidro Ranch, Jamie West. For the past three years, Clapoff served as General Manager of Halekulani. She had previously served as General Manager of the Simpson House Inn and San Ysidro Ranch, both in Santa Barbara.
Dan Normandin has been promoted to General Manager at the Four Seasons Atlanta. He joined the company in 1997, at the Four Seasons Vancouver, as Hotel Manager. Most recently, he held the position of Hotel Manager for the Four Seasons San Francisco.
Elizabeth Mullins has transferred as Vice President and General Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Washington D.C. taking over for Adriaan Radder, who has left the company. Mullins was most recently at the Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia as Vice President and General Manager. She had previously served as General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage and the Ritz-Carlton Cleveland.
David Tyson has been appointed General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa, Jupiter. He was previously the General Manager and Chief Operating Officer at the Belle Haven Country Club in Alexandria, Virginia.
Francisco Gomez has moved as Regional Vice President and General Manager of the Fairmont Banff Springs. He replaces David Roberts who has been promoted to his new role as Executive Vice-President, Asia/Pacific for Fairmont Raffles Hotels International, based in Singapore. Gomez was most recently serving as Regional Vice President and General Manager of the Fairmont San Francisco. His successor there is Thomas Klein.
Florent Gateau has been appointed General Manager of the Viceroy Miami. Most recently, he was the Managing Director of Jules Trump’s Acqualina, a former Rosewood property. Gateau previously served as Hotel Manager at Miami’s Setai, following seven years with Rosewood at Las Ventanas Al Paraiso and the Mansion on Turtle Creek.
Robert Cioffi has been named General Manager of the Hollywood Heights Hotel. He is as former General Manager of the Wyndham Bourbon Orleans Hotel that was shut down by Hurricane Katrina. Cioffi was most recently the Director of Hotel Services and facilities at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital.
The Bishop’s Lodge Ranch Resort & Spa in Santa Fe has named Rich Verruni Managing Director. He is a former Managing Director of the Eldorado Hotel & Spa. Verruni is also a former Rosewood and RockResorts executive.
James LoBosco and Larry Beiderman have swapped their post as General Managers: LoBosco is now at the Loews Annapolis Hotel while Beiderman takes over at the Madison for Loews in Washington D.C.
Gary Thulander has joined Cap Juluca as General Manager. For the past seven years, he had been with RockResorts, most recently as General Manager of the Landings Resort in St. Lucia. He previously served as General Manager of the Equinox Resort & Spa, Resort Manager at the Boulders, and Resident Manager at the Chatham Bars Inn. At Cap Juluca, he joins owner Adam Aron, former Chairman of Vail Resorts and RockResorts.
At fast growing Thompson Hotels, Michael Carsch has moved over to the Thompson Beverly Hills as General Manager, taking over for Paul Birchall who will be leaving the company. Carsch was most recently the General Manager at Thompson’s Roosevelt and previously the President of the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno. He is also a twenty-year Ritz-Carlton man.
Don Jacinto takes over for Michael Carsch as General Manager of the Hollywood Roosevelt. For the past six years, he had been with the Morgans Hotel Group, most recently as General Manager of the Mondrian Scottsdale. He previously served as Hotel Manager at Hudson in New York.
Peter Serena has been named General Manager of the Boca Raton Resort and Club, reporting to President Stephen Ast. For the past two years, he held the position of General Manager at the Vero Beach Hotel & Club. Serena had previously managed the Eagle Creek Golf and Country Club, the Wigwam Resort and Golf Club, and the St. Regis Aspen. He had been Ast’s Director of Food and Beverage at the Scottsdale (now Fairmont) Princess from 1991 to 1995.
David Morgan has been named General Manager at the Mondrian Scottsdale, replacing Don Jacinto. He was most recently in the same position at the Omni Tucson and previously served as Director of Operations at the Omni Los Angeles. Danny Goldmann comes from his most recent position as Director of Operations at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Colorado to take over as General Manager for Morgan.
Sharon Kilmartin has transferred as General Manager to the InterContinental San Juan. Kilmartin has been with the company since 1991, most recently as General Manager of the InterContinental Dallas and the InterContinental Mayfair London.
Cornell graduate Richard Brezinski has rejoined Marriott at the Durham Marriott Convention Center as General Manager. He had most recently served as General Manager of the El Monte Sagrado Resort and Spa and the Adam\'s Mark in Denver after spending thirty two years with Marriott.
Michael Collins has been promoted to General Manager at the Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas. Collins joined the resort last year as Director of Hotel Operations. He previously served in various management roles for Ritz-Carlton for sixteen years, in Pasadena, Naples, Beaver Creek and Las Vegas.
Andrew Dorough has been named General Manager of the Duane Street Hotel in New York. He was most recently the Rooms Division Director at the Millennium Broadway and previously held various positions at the Roosevelt and the Park Central New York.
Steven Smith has transferred as General Manager to the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill. For the past three years, he served as General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Long Beach and previously held the title of General Manager at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue in Washington.
Jeff Pace takes over for Steven Smith as General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Long Beach. He was most recently the General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Wichita. He previously served as Rooms Executive for the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, the Hyatt Regency Columbus, the Hyatt Regency Dallas and the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego.
Garrett Turta has been named General Manager of the Fairmont Algonquin in St. Andrews. Most recently, he was the Director of Rooms at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
Danny Watts has been named General Manager of the Waterfront Place Hotel in Morgantown, West Virginia. He was previously the Director of Operations at the Stonewall Resort.
Mike Ehmann has been named General Manager of the Sheraton Denver. He was most recently the Area Managing Director for the Southeast United States for Starwood.
Brent Willits has been named Senior Vice President and General Manager of Ameristar Council Bluffs. He was previously the Vice President of Operations at the Horseshoe Casino in Louisiana.
The Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta has named Jon Hunter General Manager. He was most recently the Director of Operations at the Omni Jacksonville.
The Old Edwards Inn and Spa in North Carolina has named Richard Delaney President and Managing Director. He was most recently a General Manager at Sea Island Resort.
Victor Aragona has been appointed General Manager of the Boston Marriott Long Wharf. He was most recently the General Manager at the Springfield Marriott.
David Cesario has been named General Manager of the Boston Marriott Quincy Hotel. Most recently, he was the General Manager of the Detroit Troy Marriott.
Benjamin Timashenka has been appointed General Manager of the Westin Baltimore Washington Airport-BWI Hotel. He was previously the General Manager at the Sheraton Crystal City.
The Omni San Diego has appointed Brian Hughes General Manager. Hughes most recently worked for Destination Hotels & Resorts as General Manager at Sunriver Resort and prior to that at the Argent in San Francisco.
Cornell graduate Michael Nestor has joined Liz Lambert’s Bunkhouse Management as General Manager of the soon-to-open Hotel Saint Cecilia in Austin. Nestor leaves Four Seasons after six years, where he most recently served as Rooms Division Manager at the Four Seasons Austin.
Christopher Garcia has been promoted to Vice President of Lodging for the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Florida. He joined the resort last year as Director of Lodging, after serving in various operational positions at the Windsor Court and Halekulani. In addition, he previously spent four years with Mandarin Oriental on Oahu and in Miami.
The JW Marriott Hotel Los Angeles at L.A. LIVE has appointed Javier Cano General Manager. Cano was previously the General Manager of the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua and Area General Manager for the Los Angeles Airport Marriott.
Richard Hayduk has been appointed Managing Director of the South Seas Island Resort in Florida. He was most recently with the Cliffs Communities as Vice President of Hospitality for two years. Previously, he served as President, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Grand Caribbean Resorts and Vice President of Operations for fourteen years at the Breakers Palm Beach.
Sergio Nunez has been named General Manager at the Libertador Tambo del Inka in Peru. He was most recently in a similar position at the Maxim Bungalows in the Dominican Republic. Nunez previously held executive positions at the Villa la Estancia and Paradise Village, both in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.
Derrick Morrow has been appointed General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Tampa. He comes from the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay, where he served as Resident Manager for the past year. Morrow began his career with Hyatt in 1991 and was the Director of Sales at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda and the Hyatt Regency Baltimore, Director of Marketing at the Hyatt Regency O\'Hare and the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
William Gant has been named General Manager of the Renaissance Raleigh at North Hills, scheduled to open in November. He was most recently the General Manager at the Clinton Inn in Tenafly, New Jersey.
Ann Schorno has moved across the state as Hotel Manager at the Four Seasons Houston. She was most recently with the Four Seasons Austin, joining in 2005 as Hotel Manager. Her first position with the company in 1994 was as a cook at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago. She then served in various rooms management positions at the Regent Singapore, the Four Seasons Shanghai and the Four Seasons Philadelphia.
Jose Adames takes over for Ann Schorno as Hotel Manager at the Four Seasons Austin. For the past two years, he had been the Director of Rooms at the Four Seasons Dallas at Las Colinas, after serving in rooms positions at the Beverly Wilshire and the Pierre. Before joining Four Seasons, he spent five years at the Peninsula New York.
Giovanni Beretta returns to San Francisco as Hotel Manager at the Four Seasons. A Lausanne graduate, he comes from serving over thirteen years with InterContinental, most recently as Hotel Manager at the InterContinental San Juan Resort and Casino. He previously served as Director of Food and Beverage at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins and held previous assignments for the company in Columbia, Caracas, Los Angeles and Miami.
Anthony Tyler has been promoted to Resort Manager at the Four Seasons Costa Rica. He was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Maui.
John Cassell has been named Hotel Manager at the Sheraton Denver. He was most recently the Area Director of Food and Beverage for the Southwest United States for Starwood.
Nick Welker has transferred to the Hotel Monaco Chicago as Assistant General Manager. He was previously in the same position at the Hotel Monaco Denver.
Thomas Narozonick has relocated to San Jose as Director of Hotel Operations for the new Airship Ventures, a company due to start Zeppelin travel in October. For the past three years, he had been at Los Angeles’ Jonathan Club as Manager Town Club and previously the General Manager for the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club.
Robert Barclay has joined Sage Hospitality as Vice President Finance, Water Park Hotels. He was most recently serving as Director of Finance for Kerzner International Bahamas in Florida.
Garin Bethel has been named Director of Finance for the Sheraton Denver. Bethel was previously Controller at JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek.
Viktoria Andersen moves over to the Hotel Burnham in Chicago as Controller. She was previously the Assistant Controller for Hotel Sax Chicago.
Rosewood has promoted Alex Alt to Vice President Development and Strategy. He joined the company in 2006, and previously held various management positions with McKinsey & Company and Sabre.
Aimbridge Hospitality has promoted Robert Burg to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He was previously Senior Vice President of Operations.
Scott Taber has been promoted to Vice President Rooms, Americas, with Four Seasons. He joined the company twenty three years ago, straight out of Cornell and served in many hotels including Austin, Philadelphia, Chicago and Tokyo. He most recently took on the opening as General Manager of the Four Seasons Whistler.
Louis Zanni has been promoted to Corporate Director of Rooms at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in Toronto. Zanni was most recently in Hawaii as Director of Rooms at the Fairmont Orchid.
Marriott International has promoted David Marriott, the youngest son of Chief Executive Bill Marriott, to Regional Vice President of Hotel Operations. Marriott, 34, was most recently serving the company as Senior Vice President of Global Sales.
Jeff Stokholm is the new Director of Hotel Operations at the Davenport Hotel and Tower in Spokane. For the past two years, he had been the Director of Food and Beverage at the Grand Targhee Resort. He previously served as Executive Chef for Mohonk Mountain House before moving into the role as Director of Food and Beverage for Chatham Bars Inn, the Sagamore and the Stein Eriksen Lodge.
The Four Seasons Vancouver has named Stéphane Castera Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently at the Four Seasons Boston where he had been Assistant Director of Food and Beverage for the last two and a half years. He previously held the position of Restaurant Manager at Aujourd\'hui in Boston and the Fountain in Philadelphia.
Jason Ludlow has been named Director of Food and Beverage at Hotel Fifty in Portland. He was most recently the Beverage Manager and Sommelier at Salty’s Seafood Grill in Portland.
Heem Chee has been promoted with the Sandestin Beach and Golf Resort to Vice President Food and Beverage. He was most recently serving as the Executive Chef for the resort.
Mark Charles has been named Director of Food and Beverage at the Naples Bay Resort, as well as Club Manager for the Club at Naples Bay Resort. He was most recently the Regional Director of Food and Beverage for Cay Clubs Resorts and Marinas. Previously, he held the title of General Manager for the Key Largo Cay Club.
Benchmark Hospitality in Texas has appointed Kathy Wooten as Director of Training. For the past five years, Wooten served as corporate marketing manager and corporate training manager for Omni Hotels. She previously held similar positions with Adam’s Mark Hotels and for Fairmont in Dallas.
Deirdre Rosen has been appointed Director of Human Resources at the Trump International Hotel and Tower in New York. She was most recently the Director of Labor Relations for the Waldorf=Astoria. Rosen previously served as Assistant Director of Human Resources at the Plaza and as Assistant Director of Training and Development at the New York Palace.
KSL Resorts has appointed Ed Eynon Vice President of Human Resources. Eynon joins KSL from the Cheesecake Factory, where he served five years as Senior Vice President of Human Resources. For four years prior, he was the Senior Vice President of Human Resources and International Relations for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City.
Danniella Crawford has been named Director of Human Resources at Cheyenne Mountain Resort. She most recently served as Director of Human Resources for the Garden of the Gods Club.
Jason Berman has joined Denihan Hospitality Group as Senior Director, Brand Marketing, based in New York. He was most recently the Director, Marketing, at W Hotels Worldwide.
Hyatt Hotels & Resorts has named Amy Curtis-McIntyre to the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Brand Communication. She previously served as Chief Marketing Officer for JetBlue Airways, Vice President of Marketing North America for Virgin Atlantic Airways and Director of Marketing for Celebrity Cruise Lines.
Marriott International in Bethesda has named Stephanie Linnartz Senior Vice President of Global Sales. Linnartz joined Marriott in 1997, working in finance and business development before taking on her most recent role as Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing Planning and Support.
Red Lion Hotels has promoted Barry Hughes to Senior Vice President, Distribution and Marketing. Hughes has served Red Lion as Vice President, Distribution and Marketing, since November 2002.
Vo Tomulich has returned to the Four Seasons Nevis as Director of Marketing, based in New York. He was most recently the Director of Marketing at the Four Seasons Great Exuma, after serving as Director of Sales for the Nevis property. He previously worked the Caribbean properties for Hyatt Hotels and Rosewood.
John Kiszla has been named Director of Sales and Marketing at the InterContinental Los Angeles Century City. He takes over for Jay Smith who has moved to the Oceana Santa Monica as Sales Director. Most recently, Kiszla served as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Hilton Kauai Beach Resort and the Aloha Beach Resort. Previously, he held the post of Director of Sales and Marketing at the Pan Pacific San Francisco and the Sonoma Mission Inn.
The Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain in Arizona has appointed Stephen Deucker Director of Sales and Marketing. Deucker spent the last five as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Ritz-Carlton Sarasota.
Guoman Hotels has named Sandy Schwab Regional Sales Director for the United States. She was previously the Business Development Manager at the Waldorf=Astoria.
The Hollywood Heights Hotel has named Kathleen Cook Director of Sales and Marketing. She was previously the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Nathan Hale Inn & Conference Center in Connecticut.
Patrick Cook has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing for the InterContinental Chicago O’Hare. He was previously the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Holiday Inn Select Naperville.
Paul Brown was recently named Director of Sales and Marketing at the Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa in Illinois. He was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Marina Inn at Grand Dunes in Myrtle Beach. Brown previously served as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Tides Inn and Vice President of Marketing at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.
Irene Lin has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Westin Seattle. She has previously served as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Westin Resort and Spa Whistler.
Bruce Curry has joined the Fairmont Olympic Seattle as Director of Sales and Marketing. He previously served as the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Crowne Plaza Seattle and Director of Convention Sales at the Renaissance Seattle.
Garriann Young has been named Director of Sales and Marketing for the Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens in Los Angeles. She was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Sheraton Cerritos.
Joan Ferraro has been named Director of Sales and Marketing at the Boston Marriott Quincy. Most recently, she was the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Newport Marriott.
Victoria Verpoorte has been promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. She most recently served as the Chateau’s Director of Group Sales.
Maria Maxwell has been named Director of Sales and Marketing at the Sheraton Denver. She was most recently the Area Director of Sales and Marketing, Southwest United States, for Starwood.
Demelza Kemp is the new Director of Sales and Marketing at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Kemp most recently served as the resort’s Director of Group Sales.
Tim Dupree has joined Echelon in Las Vegas as Executive Director of Sales. He was most recently in a similar position at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Dupree previously served in various sales positions at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills, the Regent Beverly Wilshire and the Four Seasons Austin. His successor as Director of Sales at the Beverly Hills Hotel is Sylvia Chun. Like Dupree, she came from the Beverly Wilshire.
Lana Uytterhagen has been named Director of Sales and Marketing at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald in Edmonton. Uytterhagen returns to Fairmont after a stint at the Delta Bow Valley in Calgary.
Jacqueline Edwards has been named Director of Sales and Marketing for the Bohemian Hotel Asheville Biltmore Village, scheduled to open in December. She previously served in various sales positions for fourteen years with Ritz-Carlton and Marriott, including as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Ritz-Carlton Tyson’s Corner.
Regent Hotels & Resorts has named Christopher Cestari Director of Global Sales, based in Manhattan. Cestari most recently served as Director of Sales at New York\'s Hotel Plaza Athénée.
The Parc 55 Hotel in San Francisco has promoted Glen Varda to Director of Sales. Varda, formerly the hotel’s Associate Director of Sales, previously oversaw group sales efforts for the Pan Pacific San Francisco, the Madison in Washington D.C. and the Fairmont San Francisco.
The M Resort, Spa and Casino, Las Vegas has appointed Drew Varga Executive Director of Meeting Sales. Varga previously served as Vice President of Sales, Western region, at Las Vegas Meetings by Harrah’s Entertainment.
Barcelo Hotels & Resorts has named Michael Pericas, Jr. Director of Meeting and Incentive Sales. He was most recently the Director of Sales for the Holiday Inn Select College Park in Georgia. He has previously held various positions in sales for the Sheraton Hotel Old San Juan, Sol Melia Hotels in Mexico City, and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
Island Global Yachting has appointed John Cardona Regional Marketing Director for the Middle East and Europe. He was formerly the Vice President of Hotel Sales for Regent Hotels. Cardona previously was overseeing sales and marketing for Peninsula and Rosewood. He also spent two years as Vice President Sales and Marketing for the Garrett Hotel Group.

Terence Sullivan has returned to the Palm Springs area as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Embassy Suites La Quinta Hotel and Spa. Heather Dieter has moved to San Diego to join the Grand del Mar Resort and Spa as Director of Leisure Sales-East Coast. For the past four years, she had been at the Beverly Hilton as Assistant Director Business Travel Sales. She previously served in various sales positions at the Hotel Bel-Air, the former St. Regis Los Angeles and the former Ritz-Carlton Huntington Hotel.
After opening the hotel five years ago as Director of Catering, Tom Cook has left the Wynn Las Vegas. Brandon Berger moves up from his position as Assistant Director of Catering for the hotel to take over for Cook.
Ali Kayhan has joined the Fairmont Miramar as Director of Catering. For the past year, he had been with Wolfgang Puck Catering and Events as General Manager. Previously, he served as Senior Catering Sales Manager at the New York Palace Hotel and the Plaza.
Jamie West has joined the Ojai Valley Inn and Spa as Executive Chef. For the past three years, he had overseen the kitchen for the Westward Look Resort in Tucson. West had previously served as Executive Chef for the Mayflower Inn in Connecticut and San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara. He is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America.
The Mandarin Oriental Boston has tapped French Chef Nicolas Boutin for its in-house restaurant, Asana. Boutin\'s most recent post was at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong and he previously cooked at Lameloise in Burgundy and Troisgros.
Kamal Uduwarage is the new Executive Chef at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport. He transfers from the Fairmont Dubai, where he was the Executive Sous Chef.
James Wierzelewski has been named Executive Chef at Foxwoods Resort Casino and the MGM Grand at Foxwoods. He had previously served as the Executive Chef for the New York Marquis Times Square, Corporate Executive Chef for Norwegian Cruise Lines as well as overseeing Vix at the Hotel Victor in South Beach.
Miraval in Tucson has appointed Chad Luethje Executive Chef. He was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage and Executive Chef at the Red Mountain Spa in Utah. Previously, he served as Executive Chef at the Teton Mountain Lodge in Wyoming and the Cedar Breaks Lodge in Utah.
Michelle Duncan has been named Executive Chef of the Clevelander Hotel in Miami Beach, due to re-open this Fall. She previously held various culinary positions with the White Horses Restaurant in San Clemente, the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and, most recently, Ciudad Restaurant in Los Angeles.

For the past fourteen years, he had been taking care of the guests at the Four Seasons Los Angeles as Concierge. Hawkins served in similar positions at the Four Seasons New York and the Four Seasons Santa Barbara.
Caesars Atlantic City has named Wendy Rahier Spa Director for Qua Baths & Spa set to open this summer. For the past nine years, she had been consulting for a series of spas across the U.S., most recently for the new Elements Spa at Hilton Palms Springs.
Alfredo Madero has been appointed Spa Director for the new MGM Grand at Foxwoods. He had previously managed spa operations for Disney\'s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and the One&Only Palmilla.
Paul Telford has been named Spa Director for Tucker’s Point in Bermuda. Most recently, he served as Director of Spa and Recreation at the Kahala Resort in Honolulu. Previously, Telford oversaw spa operations at the Four Seasons Washington D.C. and the Four Seasons Punta Mita.

Lausanne Hotelier Roland Fasel will be leaving his post of General Manager at the recently reopened InterContinental London to become the General Manager of the Dorchester. He will be taking the hotel over from Dorchester Collection Chief Executive Officer Christopher Cowdray, who has been operating the hotel for the past four years. Fasel is no newcomer to prestigious hotels, and also ran Badrutt’s Palace in St. Moritz, following five years with Shangri-La in Asia, first as Manager of the Shangri-La Singapore, eventually as General Manager of the Shangri-La Jakarta.
Cornell graduate Christophe Bergen, who recently managed Bob Burns’ ultra-luxury Villa Feltrinelli on Lake Garda, is at it again: this time he will be overseeing the very costly, four-year ground-up renovation of the Palais Schwarzenberg in Vienna. The project belongs to Sheik Mohammed Al Jaber.
Gregory Maliassas has been promoted to Regional Director of Operations for Chandris Hotels & Resorts in Athens. He joined the company in 2007 as General Manager for the opening of the Chandris Hotel Thessaloniki. Previously, he served as Hotel Manager for the Sofitel Los Angeles, the Sofitel Washington D.C. and Food and Beverage Director for the Sofitel Athens.
Alessandro Redaelli has been appointed General Manager at the Hôtel de La Paix in Geneva. Redaelli was most recently the General Manager at Rome\'s Exedra Hotel.
Patrick Mossu has been named General Manager of Le Richemond in Geneva. He is the former General Manager of the Grand Hotel Kempinski Geneva and previously served as Hotel Manager at the Kempinski Ciragan Palace in Istanbul.
Spiridon Sarantopoulos has been appointed General Manager of the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof, taking over from Reinhard Heermann who is leaving the company. Sarantopoulos was most recently the General Manager of the Sofitel Cologne Mondial.
Roberto Amodei stays in London to take over as Director of Finance for the Hyatt Regency London-The Churchill. He was most recently acting as Group Financial Controller for Emaar Hotels & Resorts, before their decision to relocate the corporate offices to Dubai. Amodei previously served in various financial management roles with Baglioni Hotels and the Dorchester.
Marco Ciraulo has transferred to the Four Seasons Dublin as Director of Food and Beverage. He previously played a similar role at the Four Seasons Vancouver. Ciraulo also held food and beverage management positions at the Four Seasons Hualalai and the Four Seasons Hampshire.
The Savoy has appointed Vincent McGrath Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently the opening Food and Beverage Director for the Four Seasons Hampshire. He previously oversaw food and beverage operations at the Four Seasons London, the Conrad Dublin, and the Dorchester.
Marko Hytonen has been promoted to the position of Vice President, Bars and Restaurants for Rezidor, based in Brussels. He was most recently the Vice President, Future Openings, as well as Corporate Food and Beverage for the company. He has previously served as General Manager and Area Vice President at the Radisson SAS Royal in St Petersburg.
Oliver Bonke has been appointed Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, for Starwood Europe, Africa and Middle East. Prior to this new role, he was Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing for Starwood Asia Pacific. The Boscolo Hotel Plaza Nice has promoted Simoes Alexandre to Food and Beverage Manager. He joined the hotel in 2005 as Restaurant Manager before being promoted to his most recent position as Restaurant and Bar Manager. He previously held various food and beverage positions at the Palais de La Méditerranée in Nice, the Radisson Nice, and the Conrad Brussels.

MGM Mirage Hospitality has appointed Will Hay Senior Vice President of Asia-Pacific Development. Hay most recently served as Managing Director of the China Property Group Limited and previously as General Counsel for Colony Capital Asia Limited in Hong Kong.
Paul Tchen has transferred as General Manager to the Peninsula Shanghai, due to open in late 2009. He was most recently based at the corporate office as General Manager, Operations Planning and Support. He joined the company in 1991 at the Peninsula Beverly Hills, before relocating to Hong Kong in 1992, taking on various executive positions within the group.
David Batchelor takes over for Tchen at the Peninsula Group as General Manager, Operations Planning and Support, based in Hong Kong. Since 2001, he had held the position of General Manager at the Peninsula Manila. He joined the group in 1994 as Financial Controller of the Peninsula Hong Kong, before being promoted to the position of Resident Manager for the hotel in 2000.
Vlad Reyes moves into Batchelor’s position of General Manager at the Peninsula Manila. Reyes was most recently the General Manager of the Hilton Beijing. He previously held postings as General Manager for Hilton in the Maldives, Malaysia and for the past six years, Beijing.
George Koumendakos is the new General Manager of the Banyan Tree Bangkok. He most recently held the post of General Manager at the Crowne Plaza Bahrain.
Katsumi Chiyo has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of JAL Hotels, succeeding Mamoru Tsutsumi. Chiyo has been with JAL for thirty eight years, most recently as President and Chief Executive Officer for JALways, a subsidiary of Japan Airlines.
Jan Marshall has returned as Senior Vice President for JAL Hotels in Tokyo. He previously spent eight years with the company, holding General Manager postings in Bali, Sydney, Manila and San Francisco. He was most recently serving with Accor as Director of Operations Japan and General Manager of the Sofitel Tokyo.
Devendra Bharma has moved to Mumbai as Executive Vice President of Oberoi Resorts & Hotels and as General Manager of the Oberoi Mumbai, taking over from Rattan Keswani, who has become President, Trident Hotels. Bharma was most recently at the Oberoi Delhi as General Manager.
The Westin Grande Sukhumvit in Bangkok has named Charles Jack General Manager. Most recently, he was the Hotel Manager of sister property the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel and Towers, also in Bangkok.
Akram Touma has been named General Manager of the Jumeirah Hantang Xintiandi in Shanghai. Most recently, he was the General Manager of Le Royal Méridien Shanghai since pre-opening in 2006.
Keith Hardie has been appointed General Manager of Le Royal Méridien Shanghai. He was most recently the General Manager of the Westin Grande Sukhumvit in Bangkok. Previously, Hardie held various management positions for the Muscat InterContinental, the Shangri-La Fijian Resort, the Mandarin Oriental Manila, and the London Marriott at Grosvenor Square.
The Hotel G Beijing has named Nikolaus Ellrodt General Manager. He formerly managed Germany-based Hotel Reservation Service Asia and had previous stints with Hilton, InterContinental and Le Méridien.
Nils-Arne Shroeder has been appointed General Manager of the Hilton Beijing Wanfujing. His most recent position was that of General Manager for the Hilton Namhae Golf & Spa Resort.
Stéphane Masse has transferred as General Manager to the Westin Dhaka in Bangladesh. He was most recently the Resident Manager at Le Méridien Angkor. Masse is also a former Shangri-La man.
Douglas Rucker has been appointed General Manager of Maui’s Whaler on Kaanapali Beach. He was most recently the Resort Manager at Hawk\'s Cay Resort. Prior to that, he headed the operations for the South Seas Island Resorts Company.
The Oberoi Delhi has named Jay Rathore General Manager, taking over from Devendra Bharma. Rathore was most recently in the same position for the Oberoi Vanyavilas.
Milton Sgarbi will be transferring with Starwood to the Princeville Resort on Kauai as General Manager. For the past three years he has been the General Manager of the St. Regis Bora Bora. He joined Starwood in 2000 as General Manager for the Hotel Romazzino in Sardinia. At Princeville, he takes over from Kelly Hoen, now the General Manager of sister property the Royal Hawaiian on Waikiki Beach.
Jon Gersonde has been appointed General Manager to re-open the fabled Mauna Kea Beach Resort, which had been closed for one year for ground-up renovations. He comes from the Royal Hawaiian, which closed recently for its one-year renovation. Gersonde had previously served as General Manager of the Westin Mission Hills Resort & Spa and General Manager of the Kapalua Bay Hotel & Ocean Villas.
Natalie Kamolwattanasoontorn has been named General Manager of the Dusit Princess Koh Chang in Thailand. She has previously served as Resident Manager of Karma Samui and in various positions with the Terrigal Crowne Plaza Resort, the Park Hyatt Sydney and Amanresorts.
Alan Thomas has been appointed General Manager of the Six Senses Hideaway Hua Hin and Evason Hua Hin in Thailand. Prior to this, he was the opening General Manager of the Crowne Plaza Marlow in Buckinghamshire. He was previously the Deputy General Manager of the Grosvenor House, followed by a stint as General Manager of the Westbury.
The Westin Resort Nusa Dua has named Bipan Kapur General Manager. He previously opened the Westin Sohna Gurgaon Resort & Spa.

Dominique Bonnel has moved across town to the Mandarin Oriental Beijing as Director of Food and Beverage. He was most recently serving in the same position for the St. Regis Beijing. The Four Seasons Bora Bora has promoted Christel Artaud to Director of Human Resources. She joined the pre-opening team of the hotel as Human Resources Manager last December from the same position at Le Méridien Tahiti.
Robert O\'Kennedy has moved over as pre-opening Senior Director of Marketing at the Four Seasons Beijing. He transferred from the Four Seasons Bangkok where he had the same position since 2004, when he joined the company. Prior to that, he was the Director of Marketing for Hilton International in Seoul and Shanghai.
Scott Boyer returns to Asia as Director of Marketing for the Four Seasons Jakarta. Mauna Lani Resort has brought in Caren Murata as Leisure Sales Manager, based out of California. For the past twenty two years, she held the position of Regional Sales Manager with Aloha Airlines.
The InterContinental Hong Kong has named Meredith Yong Director of Revenue Management. For the past three years, he served as Director of Revenue Management at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong. Prior to that, he spent six years in Hawaii in revenue management for the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua, Halekulani, and the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
Anthony Edington has been promoted to Executive Chef from Food and Beverage Manager at the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas. He joined Starwood in 1995 as Executive Chef at the Kapalua Bay Hotel and previously served as Chef de Cuisine at the Westin Maui Resort & Spa.
The Fullerton Hotel in Singapore has named Leong Chee Yeng Chef de Cuisine of their Chinese restaurant, Jade. Yeng was most recently the Executive Chinese Chef of Zheng He\'s at the Madinat Jumeirah Resort in Dubai.
Hervé Potus has been named Area Executive Pastry Chef for the Shangri-La Singapore. For the past two years, he had been the Executive Pastry Chef at the Imperial New Delhi. Potus is also a former Pastry Chef from the Four Seasons Cairo and the Four Seasons Singapore.
Adriana Cuadrado has been appointed Guest Services Director for the Hotel G Beijing. She was most recently with Soho House New York as Guest Relations Manager. She has previously held various positions at the Ritz in Paris, the Bulgari in Milan and the Berkeley in London.
Onuma Onketphon has been named Corporate Spa Trainer of Spa Cenvaree in Thailand. Onketphon was most recently the Group Training Manager of the Banyan Tree Spa Academy for over two years.
Thea Wong has been named Director of I-Spa for the InterContinental Hong Kong. She was most recently the Group General Manager for Haach Beauty, Spa and Wellness International.
MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA
Jumeirah has named Frank van der Post Chief Operating Officer. He was previously Jumeirah\'s Senior Vice President for the Americas. He is also a former long-time General Manager with Inter-Continental.
At Jumeirah, Marco Nijhof has been promoted to Senior Vice President for the Middle East, Africa, India, Seychelles and the Maldives. He was previously Jumeirah\'s Senior Vice President for the Gulf, based in Dubai. Nijhof also served as Director of Operations for the Aga Khan’s Serena Hotels.
Denys Courtier is moving to Marrakech as Executive Director of La Mamounia, reporting to General Manager Didier Picquot. Courtier has previously managed the Gran Hotel La Florida in Barcelona, the Hotel Lancaster, and the Park Hyatt Paris Vendôme.
Philippe Montaubin moves over for the opening of the new Ibis Al Barsha , Dubai followed by the opening of the Novotel Al Barsha, Dubai. He was previously the General Manager of the Sofitel City Centre Hotel & Residence in Dubai.
Bugra Berberoglu has been appointed General Manager of the Kempinski Hotel Ishtar Dead Sea in Jordan as well as Regional Director for Kempinski Hotels & Resorts. A Lausanne graduate, he was most recently the opening General Manager for the Kempinski Hotel Djibouti, following several years with InterContinental.
Moritz Klein has been named General Manager of the Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi. He was most recently the General Manager of the Amwaj Rotana Resort in Dubai. He had previously been part of the pre-opening team at the Empire Hotel and Country Club in Brunei and has worked at the Hotel Baltschug Kempinski, Claridge\'s, the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munich and the New World Hotel Saigon.
Anthony Mirza has taken over from Stéphane Delamotte as General Manager of the Sunset Beach Resort & Marina in Saudi Arabia. He previously served as General Manager of the Grand Mercure Baolong Shanghai, the Novotel Ambassador Doksan and as Resident Manager at the Sofitel Ambassador in Seoul.
Axel Jarosch has joined the Desert Palm Dubai as General Manager. He was most recently in a similar position at the Fortress in Sri Lanka. Jarosch previously served as Resident Manager of the Constance Lémuria in the Seychelles and Lodge Manager of the Constance Lodge Goche Ganas in Namibia.
Christoph Ganster has been promoted to Hotel Manager at Raffles Dubai. He joined the pre-opening team of the hotel in 2007 as Executive Assistant Manager in charge of Food and Beverage. Previously, Ganster has overseen food and beverage for the Raffles Resort Canouan Island.
Christian Westbeld has been promoted to Director of Food and Beverage for Raffles Dubai. He joined the hotel in 2007, during the pre-opening period, as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage. He previously served as Assistant Food and Beverage Director, Banquets, at the Fairmont Dubai and the Peninsula Manila.
Simon Spiller and Khaldoun Shindi have been appointed Assistant Directors of Food and Beverage for Raffles Dubai. Spiller was previously the Restaurant Operations Manager. Before joining the hotel in 2007, Shindi worked at the Shangri-La Dubai and the Marriott Amman.
The Leading Hotels of the World have named Hatem Chatter Director of Sales for the Middle East. He was previously the Regional Director of Sales, Middle East for Rosewood.
Azar Saliba has been promoted to Director of Rooms at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel Dubai. He was most recently the Front Office Manager for the hotel.
Jittima Wongsiripaiboon is the new Spa Director at the Anantara Spa at Emirates Palace in Dubai. She was previously the Spa Manager at the Metropolitan Hotel also in Dubai.
