Ideally located in Boston’s chic Back Bay, a luxurious, new Mandarin Oriental hotel will combine world-class sophistication, sumptuous accommodations and gracious service when it opens in October 2008. Poised on Boylston Street, near the elegant shops of Newbury Street, the famed Boston Common and the newly restored South End, Mandarin Oriental, Boston will be at the heart of what’s happening in this vibrant American city.

Mandarin Oriental, Boston’s 148 guestrooms, including 12 suites, will provide the city’s most spacious accommodations amongst Boston hotels. Beautifully designed with custom furnishings in exotic, golden-hued anegre wood and lush silk, each room features airy, granite bathrooms with separate soaking tubs and showers, as well as the latest in-room entertainment technology, with wireless Internet access. For the utmost indulgence, the stunning 2,600-square-foot Presidential “Dynasty” Suite will offer an experience second-to-none.

The hotel will be a stylish setting for the latest addition to Boston’s culinary landscape with its signature restaurant, Asana. Serving refined American cuisine and authentic Asian dishes, Asana will offer all day dining from a creative menu designed by Executive Chef Nicolas Boutin that incorporates the finest, seasonal ingredients found in New England. Asana will also feature a private Chef’s Table for up to eight privileged guests to observe Chef Boutin’s artful preparations firsthand. The restaurant’s floor-to-ceiling windows will afford great views onto Boylston Street, creating a lively ambience, also shared by the hotel’s adjacent M Bar & Lounge. Its custom-carved, exotic wood-paneled walls and cozy banquettes will provide an alluring atmosphere for specialty cocktails or select vintages from the lounge’s impressive, glass-encased wine room.

To nurture the mind, body and spirit, the 16,000-square-foot Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Boston will offer holistic treatments blending Eastern traditions with modern techniques from its nine
private treatment rooms, including a Hydrotherapy suite, a spacious couples suite, and a deluxe VIP Mandarin suite. The Spa will feature extensive heat and wet facilities in both the men’s and women’s lounges, with Crystal Steam Rooms, Vitality Pools, ‘Experience’ showers and tranquil relaxation areas. Guests who wish to expand their wellness program will delight in the culinary offerings at the Spa Café, serving light, healthy fare and custom-blended teas in the tranquil environment of the Spa. Personal trainers at the hotel’s fitness center can also guide guests to peak performance with cutting-edge TechnoGym and Kinesis equipment.

Mandarin Oriental, Boston offers the perfect venue for intimate gatherings or for as many as 600 guests, with more than 10,000 square feet of elegantly-designed function space, all conveniently situated on the hotel’s second level. Flooded in natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows and paneled throughout with blonde satinwood, elegant marble trim and opulent buttery-hued silks, the 4,200-square-foot Oriental Ballroom and the hotel’s three smaller function rooms are all equipped with Mandarin Oriental’s signature technology systems, ample private pre-function areas and a dedicated kitchen. A professional planning team will ensure every event is executed with the uncompromising attention to detail for which Mandarin Oriental is renowned.

The classic and contemporary design aesthetic of Mandarin Oriental, Boston is the creation of Massachusetts-based interior designer Frank Nicholson. Intriguing Asian accents and rich details are found throughout the hotel, reflecting the heritage of Mandarin Oriental, while a pronounced sense of comfort, warmth and Bostonian charm are also conveyed through the design.
