Promotion Offers Significant Savings on European Travel in 10 Countries

WORLDHOTELS, the hotel group for independent hotels and regional hotel brands, has announced a special “Stay in Europe, Pay in Dollars” promotion. As part of the offer, the company is eliminating the euro-to-U.S.-dollar exchange rate for bookings made within the United States for more than 52 of its hotels and resorts located throughout Europe. For example, a U.S. traveler booking a stay for EUR 150 per night will only pay USD $150 -- about a 40 percent savings(a). The offer is valid now through June 30, 2008, and is available at participating properties in Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Luxembourg, France, the Czech Republic, and Poland. The rates are commissionable to travel agents.

“While many American travelers are not limiting the number of trips they plan to take, a recent survey by Modern Agent magazine found that 47 percent of travelers polled plan to alter the destination of their leisure trips in 2008 to save money,” said Tom Griffiths, vice president of WORLDHOTELS-the Americas. “We’re hoping the savings available through this promotion will encourage Americans to continue traveling to Europe this spring.”

The “Stay in Europe, Pay in Dollars” promotion is available Thursday through Monday at participating properties and can be booked by calling 800-223-5652 or through a travel agent. This offer is not valid online; payment is due upon checkout. The price is guaranteed at the time of booking for payments made using credit cards, U.S.-denominated currency or travelers’ checks.

(a)Based on the euro-to-dollar exchange rate on April 14, 2008.
