Loews Hotels brightens meetings with innovative

Meeting Planners Can Choose from Three Meaningful Colors to Enhance Attendees' Experience

Companies are paying closer attention to the colors they choose for their brands and products. Colors can encourage and influence consumers and employees to feel a certain way, make particular choices and promote brand loyalty. Similarly, Loews Hotels has developed an innovative and entertaining way to use color to help meeting planners to keep the focus and loyalty inside the meeting with the introduction of Loews' Color Breaks. Typically, meeting breaks take place outside or at the back of the room in "water-cooler" fashion. Loews keeps minds on the meeting with individual snack settings at each person's seat, floral centerpieces, on-screen color flushes and matching room décor to engage and entertain meeting participants.

Meeting planners can choose from three different colors to "wow" attendees when they walk into a conference room at any Loews hotel, setting the mood for a productive and energetic meeting. Blue, the color of peace, spirituality, youth and the immense ocean encourages creativity, stimulates thought process and the opens the flow of communication. Yellow, the color of wisdom, intellectual energy, happiness and the beautiful sun sharpens concentration and memory skills and increases awareness. Green, the color of nature and well being encourages new ideas for change and growth.

Ellen Burke Van Slyke, Corporate Creative Director of Food & Beverage at Loews Hotels carefully chose these colors to compliment each meeting planners' purpose. Burke Van Slyke incorporates her artistic abilities as a professional painter for over 30 years into her role at Loews Hotels, translating them into her menus, restaurants, and meeting designs. "The value of color as a stimulant is undeniable," said Burke Van Slyke. "When designing a room, all of the elements must fall into place to inspire the right mind set for a meeting, which is why color plays such an important role."

Planners can choose one color for the entire length of their meeting or mix it up to enliven the room for a new and refreshing color experience each time participants re-enter the room. The usual meeting takes place over three days, giving meeting planners the option to choose a new color each day, or for shorter conferences; the colors can be changed throughout the day. The vibrant menus consist of a mix of three flavors: "Sweet and Sinful," "Healthy and Fresh" and "Salty and Crunchy." For example, the Blue menu consists of blue M&M's, blueberries, and blue corn chips in matching or clear dishes. The menu, along with color-inspired floral centerpieces, a tint of color on the walls, on-screen AV color flushes, and additional color accents complete the room décor.

Color breaks are customized for each company meeting experience through the event planner at all Loews Hotels. They are sold as an addition to Loews' customary morning or afternoon breaks for enjoyment during meeting sessions.
