By timing the official opening of its subsidiary in Geneva to coincide with the presentation of the 2008 Guide in Switzerland on 14 and 15 January, Relais & Châteaux confirms the vitality of the Swiss market and its dynamic approach to its key markets.

With 28 properties including 11 Grands Chefs, the Swiss Relais & Châteaux delegation is one of the most well represented.

Accounting for almost 7% of the Association’s global clientele, the Swiss guests are also one of the biggest and most dynamic groups in Relais & Châteaux. In Europe, Switzerland ranks fourth behind France, the United Kingdom and Germany.

For Jaume Tàpies, the International President of Relais & Châteaux, “The quality and quantity of our Swiss members, the loyalty of Swiss guests to our properties around the world and their discernment when it comes to fine dining are the three reasons which prompted us to open the 8th Relais & Châteaux subsidiary in Geneva”.

For Philippe Vuillemin, President of the Swiss delegation, “The opening of the Swiss subsidiary rewards the efforts of our members and the loyalty of our guests to being part of the Relais & Châteaux story.”

For Philippe Rochat, Grand Chef Relais & Châteaux in Crissier (Switzerland), “Swiss gastronomy has a unique identity which helps to spread its fame every day. The opening of the Swiss Relais & Châteaux subsidiary pays tribute to our uniqueness.”

Each subsidiary is the main tool for brand promotion on the key Relais & Châteaux markets around the world: Switzerland, Germany, North America, Italy, Spain and Portugal, United Kingdom and Ireland, Asia Pacific, Japan.

The subsidiaries are responsible for increasing familiarity with our properties, boosting their sales revenues and providing useful services for their development.
