The Rezidor Hotel Group will open the former Grand Hotel of Bordeaux as The Regent Bordeaux – the historic palace with 150 rooms will be the youngest member of the group’s most luxurious brand symbolizing a legend of worldwide hospitality. The property was originally planned as a Radisson SAS Grand Hotel – but Rezidor and the hotel owner, the French company FIB (Financière Immobilière Bordelaise), decided to upgrade the unique building vis-à-vis the Opera.

“In the course of our long term and intense cooperation we realized that the hotel has even more potential than we saw right at the beginning”, says Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of The Rezidor Hotel Group. “This former palais bordelais is located in the very heart of the “Golden Triangle”, an area which has been carefully restored over the last few years, and is now reflecting the city’s long and rich history. Bordeaux’s centre has undergone an amazing development and today belongs to the most beautiful and sophisticated places in France. Giving the title of a Regent hotel to the legendary Grand Hotel is our tribute to this heritage – Bordeaux gets simply the best and deserves it.”

“The Regent Bordeaux will open a new market segment for the city”, comments Michel Ohayon, President & CEO of FIB. “With Rezidor we have found a partner which is internationally experienced and at the same time sensible to local needs – our hotel fits perfectly with the reborn Bordeaux. We are looking forward to a Grand Opening Night within the next months to celebrate the hotel.”

The 128 rooms and 22 suites of The Regent Bordeaux are a masterwork of Jacques Garcia. The world-famous interior designer combines the classical style of the XVIII and XIX centuries with modern eclectic luxury and state-of-the art technology. At the fine-dining restaurant “L’Océan” innovative Haute Cuisine with local and international flavours will be served and be accompanied by the best wines from the nearby Bordelais. The hotel furthermore features the Belle Époque style “Brasserie l’Europe” and the cosy “Victor Bar”, a prestigious wine cellar (represented by Bordeaux Magnum) and the trendy night club “Black Diamond”. Guests seeking for relaxation will enjoy the 1,000 square meters spa “Les Bains de Léa” on the 5th and 6th floor; offering its own cosmetic brand, a rooftop indoor pool and breathtaking views over the city. Shopping victims will find their paradise in the hotel’s “Fashion Avenue”: This luxury gallery on 400 square meters was designed by the famous Italian architect Ferruccio Laviani and includes jewellery brands such as Van Cleef & Arpels, Chopard, De Grisogono, Repossi and Boucheron as well as fashion boutiques featuring YSL, Gucci, Roberto Cavalli and Bottega Veneta.
