414-room hotel to be centerpiece of 12th & Midtown, new mixed-use development on Atlanta's Midtown Mile

Today, Loews Hotels announced it will open its first property in Atlanta. The centerpiece of 12th & Midtown, a luxury mixed-use development spanning four city blocks in Midtown Atlanta, Loews Atlanta Hotel will feature 414 guest rooms, fitness center and spa services, signature restaurant, lobby bar and more than 24,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel is slated to open in April, 2010.

The Atlanta debut of Loews Hotels comes on the heels of the company's widely publicized expansion program, which aims to grow the chain by 10 to 15 hotels in the next five years. The hotel will be the focal point of a $500 million contemporary urban mixed-use development featuring 750,000 square feet of Class A office space, more than 60,000 square feet of flagship retail space and 60 luxury residences.

"As we grow our brand, we are delighted to deliver a Loews Hotels experience at what can only be described as Atlanta's most sought-after new address," said Jonathan Tisch, Chairman and CEO of Loews Hotels. "In more than two years of market research with our guests, Atlanta was consistently among the places where our customers would most like to see a Loews hotel."

Located at 1075 Peachtree Street, Loews Atlanta Hotel will introduce the company's range of branded services and amenities, which exceed AAA Four Diamond standards to delight guests with a supremely comfortable, uniquely local and vibrant travel experience. In keeping with its brand promise, Loews will infuse the Atlanta property with a contemporary Southern sensibility, capturing the region's cultural vibrancy through artwork, artifacts and music by emerging and established Southern artists and composers. Dining options at the hotel will feature sophisticated Southern fusion menus as well as an extensive wine list with many artisinal vintages and unique varietals.

"We are excited to partner with Loews Hotels to establish a premium in- town experience," said Charlie Tickle, Chairman and CEO of Daniel Corporation, a member of the 12th & Midtown development team. "The Loews Hotels brand, with its luxury services and amenities, is an extraordinary addition."

The company's plans for the new Atlanta hotel property follow the successful opening of the Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort in December 2006, which signaled the start of its announced growth strategy. "We are expanding at a significant, strategically timed pace to ensure that every new property development and service initiative supports our brand recognition goal," said Tisch, noting Atlanta's "perfect fit" in the Loews Hotels portfolio.

Conveniently located in Atlanta's fashionable Midtown district, Loews Atlanta Hotel will offer easy access to the city's Fortune 500 corporations, leading law firms and world-renowned cultural and arts venues such as the Woodruff Arts Center, the High Museum and the legendary Fox Theatre. Guest rooms will be luxuriously appointed with high thread-count bedding, oversized desks and every modern convenience, including wireless high-speed Internet access and Keurig coffee brewing systems. Service is a Loews Hotels priority, and the property will provide twice-daily housekeeping, 24-hour room service and a well-connected concierge staff. The hotel's services and amenities will complement Loews Hotels' popular branded programs, such as Loews Loves Kids and Loews Loves Pets.
