On schedule for an early 2008 opening, The Water Club, a signature hotel by Borgata, will introduce a unique brand of hospitality to Atlantic City, offering a personality of its own while combining elements of Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. The $400 million cosmopolitan hotel will feature 800 finely-appointed guestrooms and suites with five tiers of accommodations; a two-story 'spa in the sky;' 18,000 square feet of meeting space; three Residences modeled after chic, urban lofts; five heated indoor and outdoor pools, each offering a distinct experience; and six retail shops. Located adjacent to Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, The Water Club will be just steps away from Borgata's world-class entertainment, dining, nightlife, and gaming options.
The debut of The Water Club, a joint venture between Boyd Gaming (NYSE:BYD) and MGM MIRAGE (NYSE:MGM), will complete Borgata's $600 million master plan development and bring the total investment into the resort destination to $1.7 billion, allowing more guests than ever before to experience the luxe lifestyle that defines Borgata.
"Shortly after we opened Borgata, we announced our plans for The Water Club, recognizing the high consumer demand for a second hotel under the Borgata brand of hospitality," said Larry Mullin, President and Chief Operating Officer for Borgata. "Upon its opening in early 2008, The Water Club will continue Borgata's efforts in redefining Atlantic City as a travel destination by introducing a new, uncharted hotel experience to the market."
A View from the Top
Conceived as an exclusive extension to the sophisticated, international style that already defines Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, The Water Club will offer a serenely cosmopolitan setting, blending high design and modern amenities within an intimate and highly-personalized guest experience.
The element of water will introduce the notion of vitality and set the overall aesthetic tone for The Water Club. Intriguing design materials fuse clean, elegant lines with soothing water features. Limestone columns, Italian blown glass chandeliers, and plush handmade rugs punctuated by rich, splashes of color are interwoven with several cascading water features. The hotel's lobby lounge, The Sunroom, will offer a central view of one of two outdoor heated pools, inspired by the design and experience of Miami's South Beach. A perfect setting for sunning and socializing, the Brazilian Ipe wooden deck will feature sand and cabanas, overlooking a 400-jet Infinity-edge Jacuzzi pool. The hotel's two indoor pools will be set amidst lush live landscaping, large bamboo stalks, and natural light, evoking the feeling of an outdoor setting.
Located on the 32nd floor, Immersion - The Spa at The Water Club, will feature 16 'experience' rooms, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a spacious, 25-yard Infinity-edge lap pool with sky views overlooking the ocean.
The hotel's 18,000 square feet of meeting space will include two glass- enclosed boardrooms, three additional boardrooms, and eight meeting spaces with state-of-the-art technology and amenities. The Water Club will also feature six retail shops including men's and women's clothing, lingerie, shoes and jewelry boutiques.
