Silent Valley Bear Watching at Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras

The High Tatra Mountains are an unspoiled wilderness and one of the best places in Europe to spot brown bears in their natural habitat. Accompanied by an experienced guide, guests staying at Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras will set out on a full-day hike into the forested slopes of Silent Valley, keeping an eye out for bears and other wildlife including Alpine chamois, red deer and marmot. For an even more panoramic High Tatras experience, Kempinski guests can book an overnight stay at the observatory on top of Lomnicky Peak, the highest point in Slovakia at 2,632 metres (219 feet). After a private tour of the observatory and an introduction to the meteorological and astronomical research carried out there since 1940, guests will be treated to a spectacular sunset high above the earth, before settling in for an overnight stay on the roof of the world.

Aerobatic Jet Flight Over Latvia at Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga

Bucket list experiences don’t come much more extreme than roaring into the sky aboard an aerobatic fighter jet. Guests at Grand Hotel Kempinski Riga can buckle up in an L-39 Albatross aircraft alongside the Baltic Bees Jet Team and take part in an adrenaline-fuelled 20-minute journey. During this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, the pilot will perform a series of high-speed manoeuvres in the skies above Latvia, affording spectacular views of Riga and the Baltic Sea before a private transfer takes guests back to the hotel to share their adventures.

Motovun Forest Truffle Hunting at Kempinski Hotel Adriatic Istria

There’s nothing more decadent than a flurry of freshly shaved truffles and there are few better places to find them than Croatia’s truffle capital, Istria. Guests at Kempinski Hotel Adriatic can delve into the Forest of Motovun with an experienced truffle hunter to seek out the elusive fungi, which thrive all year round in the mystical microclimate of the Mirna River Valley. Accompanied by a specially trained truffle hunting hound, guests can explore the ancient forest, less than 45 minutes from the hotel, and be back in time to add a dash of earthy umami flavour to their evening meal.

Lake Como Vintage Motorboat Tour at Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski St. Moritz

From the mountains of Switzerland’s Engadin Valley to the Italian lakes of Lombardy, guests at Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski St. Moritz can celebrate spring in style along the star-studded shores of Lake Como aboard a vintage Riva motorboat. After winding between the frosted peaks of the Swiss Alps on the journey from St. Moritz, guests will step aboard the beautifully restored Riva Aquarama Special and set sail into the glassy waters of the lake. With a glass of champagne in hand, guests will cruise past historic villas, lush gardens and hidden coves, immersing themselves in the cinematic beauty of one of Italy’s most glamorous destinations with an experienced captain at the helm.

Take a Vintage Adriatic Cruise at Kempinski Palace Portorož Istria

The picture-perfect waters of the Adriatic coast around Kempinski Palace Portorož are best enjoyed from the quiet splendour of a traditional Istrian sailing boat. During this exclusive private cruise, guests will set sail on a slow sojourn along the coast, past the red rooftops and architectural marvels of Portorož and Piran and the natural beauty of the Istrian coast. Onboard, guests will be treated to sparkling wine and a selection of regional delicacies while the vintage wooden vessel gracefully journeys along the coast, before mooring in a sheltered cove for swimming and dolphin spotting.

Skydive Over the Pyramids at Royal Maxim Palace Kempinski Cairo

Not even the Pharaohs had the privilege of seeing the pyramids from the sky. During this bucket-list experience, guests will buckle up for the thrill of a lifetime and step aboard the aircraft at Cairo’s Sphinx Airport. After a short flight that affords spectacular aerial views of the pyramids and Cairo’s sprawling cityscape, guests will take a leap of faith in tandem with an experienced instructor. Travellers who prefer a more sedate cultural experience can book a private VIP tour of the Grand Egyptian Museum. Guided by an expert in Egyptology, this option is perfect for discovering a treasure trove of artefacts in the main galleries before visiting the conservation centre and a centuries-old wooden boat that once belonged to King Cheops.

Awaken Your Chakras at The Apurva Kempinski Bali

At The Apurva Kempinski Bali, a majestic open-air theatre on the cliffs of Nusa Dua, guests can tap into time-honoured rituals and ancient healing practices at The Apurva Spa. One of the resort’s signature wellness experiences, Awakening the Chakra Spirit, begins with a Tibetan singing bowl sound meditation that stimulates the senses and encourages deep relaxation. Guests are then led to the serene surrounds of Geger Temple, where a Balinese priest, known as a Pemangku, performs a traditional Melukat purification ritual that realigns the seven chakras. Back at The Apurva Spa, a chakra-focused massage soothes and harmonises the body, leaving guests feeling rejuvenated and revitalised. Concluding the treatment, a herbal Jamu is served to nourish the body from the inside.

Behind the Scenes of the Alhambra Palace at Kempinski Hotel Bahía Marbella

Nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains above Granada in southern Spain, the Alhambra Palace is a 13th-century masterpiece of Moorish art and architecture. Guests of Kempinski Hotel Baha can delve into the history of this remarkable mountain citadel during an exclusive private after-hours tour of the UNESCO World Heritage site. Tours for up to 30 guests can be personalised to focus on personal interests, from the remarkable Nasrid architecture and beautiful stone calligraphy to the history of the Moorish conquest of southern Spain.

Glamorous Road Trip from Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest to Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras

Spring is the best time of year for a scenic drive through the mountains and UNESCO World Heritage sites of Central Europe, bracketed with a luxurious stay at two Kempinski hotels. Having soaked in the splendour of the Hungarian capital at Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest, guests can hit the road and traverse the Visegrád Mountains before crossing into Slovakia. Calling in at 15th-century Chateau Saint Anton and the UNESCO Heritage town of Banská Stiavnica, the journey weaves through an ancient caldera to Zvolen Castle. Continue through Low Tatras National Park and stop for scenic lunch in the Slovakian ski resort of Donovaly, before spotting traditional villages and mountain reservoirs on the final leg of the journey to Grand Hotel Kempinski High Tatras.

These bucket list spring and summer experiences are available exclusively to guests of Kempinski Hotels.
