From historic barber shops and bespoke tailors to sleek clothing stores, the itinerary highlights some of Rome’s most iconic boutiques and hidden ateliers, offering a sophisticated exploration of Italian craftsmanship.
The itinerary has been thoughtfully designed to include Rome’s most distinguished boutiques and historic establishments, including:
- Antica Barberia da Peppino: Founded in 1957, this historic barber shop in the heart of Rome offers elevated grooming experiences for men. Notable clients include royalty, politicians, celebrities and members of the Roman jet-set.
- Sartoria Tommy & Giulio Caraceni: Renowned for its quintessentially Italian style, this historic tailor is a leading destination for bespoke, handcrafted suits. It has dressed film stars and movers and shakers including Cary Grant and Gianni Agnelli.
- Marini Calzature: Founded in 1899 by Giuseppe Marini, a young visionary Roman shoemaker, this historic atelier crafts bespoke handmade footwear. The boutique rose to international prominence during the golden era of La Dolce Vita in the 1950s and 1960s, becoming a symbol of timeless elegance. Its exquisite handmade shoes adorned the feet of global icons such as Marcello Mastroianni and Anna Magnani. To this day, Marini operates from its original workshop at Via Francesco Crispi 97, located in the heart of Rome near Via Veneto.
- Brioni: Founded in Rome in 1945, Brioni encapsulates modern elegance and sophistication, with meticulously crafted garments made with some of the world’s finest fabrics. As well as bespoke tailoring, the boutique offers formal and casual ready-to-wear Made in Italy collections, as well as a curated range of leather goods, shoes, accessories and fragrances. Brioni designs and crafts items in the spirit of ‘slow luxury’, embracing values that prioritise sustainability for the planet and wellbeing for people. This ethos is shared by artisans and communities that are integral to the brand’s identity.
- Schostal: For over 150 years, this historic clothing store has specialised in beautiful Made in Italy sleepwear, complemented by a curated selection of handmade knitwear and shirts.
- Cruciani & Bella: Located in Rome’s historical core, this small gentleman’s haberdashery offers a fine collection of accessories sourced from quality artisans in Italy. From silk ties and cashmere scarves to braces and sterling silver cufflinks, every piece is thoughtfully designed to elevate and personalise any outfit.
- Campomarzio70: At this storied Roman perfumery, exquisite scents and artisanal secrets have been lovingly preserved and passed down through four generations. The dedicated staff are true connoisseurs of fragrance, offering personalised guidance to help guests choose their preferred scent.

Hotel de la Ville opened in 2019 and stands as Rocco Forte Hotels' Roman address on Via Sistina, alongside the renowned Hotel de Russie on Via del Babuino. The iconic 18th-century palace, perched atop the Trinità dei Monti, underwent a complete renovation under the guidance of architect Tommaso Ziffer and Olga Polizzi, the company's Director of Design.
