A landmark building on renowned Fifth Avenue since 1904, The Peninsula New York drew inspiration for its refurbishment from the elegance of Manhattan’s Roaring 1920s era blended with a refined simplicity that is both fresh and elegant, complete with bespoke amenities and personalized services.

The Grand Entrance and Palm Court
Upon arrival, guests are welcomed into The Grand Entrance with a magnificent chandelier overlooking the dramatic double-height entry Lobby with a sweeping marble double-staircase. The intimate Reception space and Concierge Desk have been redesigned with bespoke interiors of fresher, lighter finishes, accented with rich wood paneling, creating a truly welcoming guest experience. The Palm Court, the hotel’s central atrium, will feature a newly commissioned triptych by contemporary artist Ricardo Mazal - inspired by nature and representing human energy in the city -while accentuating the verticality of the voluminous space.
Refurbished Guest Rooms & Suites
The Peninsula New York’s refreshed 219 guest rooms and suites evoke the essence of a private Manhattan apartment, featuring an elegant light color palette, harmoniously accented with contemporary design elements and furnishings, all glowing with new contemporary lighting. Borrowing inspiration from the city that surrounds it, a curated selection of striking artworks, objets d’art, and books add understated modernity.
Guest rooms are designed to serve as light and luxurious retreats, updated with the latest comforts and high-tech conveniences, including The Peninsula’s proprietary in-room technology.
Here, guests enjoy touch-screen tablets offering six languages (including French, Japanese, Spanish, English, Arabic, and Simplified Chinese), with access to a signature 24-hour digital concierge, bedside panels for ease of controlling temperature and lighting, and additional enhancements that ensure convenience for the global traveler. Contributing to the overall residential ambiance are white-on-white jacquard textiles, Quagliotti bed linens, and plush furnishings, which are further complemented by etched glass, molded headboards, and updated lighting fixtures.
The Peninsula New York features three Signature Suites, including the Fifth Avenue Suite, The Peninsula Suite, and the newly renovated Grand Suite, ranging in size from over 1,600-square-feet to 3,000-square-feet. Overlooking Fifth Avenue with cityscape and Central Park views, these Signature Suites promise guests an exceptional New York pied-à-terre experience.
Enhanced Food & Beverage Concepts
Set high above iconic Fifth Avenue is the crown jewel of The Peninsula New York - the reimagined Pen Top (formerly Salon de Ning). With the city’s iconic skyline as the backdrop, guests sip classic handcrafted cocktails and indulge in decadent light bites. The new operable, louvered roof allows for indoor and outdoor year-round dining providing more seating options for guests to enjoy the menu of New York classics.
The menu features elevated iterations of martinis and other classic and modern libations alongside a thoughtfully curated wine bottle program. In a return to its original namesake, this new rooftop transformation is reminiscent of an artist’s loft, lush with greenery and plush sofas, complemented by the ease and stylish service that defines The Peninsula New York. Pen Top is poised to become Midtown’s premier rooftop destination, offering an unparalleled blend of sophistication and style for in-the-know locals and travelers.
Nestled just off the hotel lobby is Gotham Lounge, making its grand return as an exquisite and intimately appointed piano bar. Gotham Lounge beckons patrons to savor a tipple and gourmet cuisine, while enjoying the soulful melodies of a resident pianist performing timeless classics on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings from 6-9pm.
Adorned with artworks from local artists and opulent furnishings, Gotham Lounge provides the perfect ambiance for an unforgettable evening.
In addition to the reimagined Pen Top and Gotham Lounge, guests can also dine at Clement, a quintessential classic midtown spot for breakfast, brunch, or lunch.
