Oetker Collection is delighted to announce long-serving employee Jens Hackebeil as its Chief Financial Officer, with effect April 1st. The appointment also marks Hackebeil becoming a member of the company’s Executive Committee.
A German native, Hackebeil commenced his career at Oetker Collection in 2011 where he has held several senior finance roles on property and corporate level before.
Since 2020, Hackebeil has held the role Vice President Finance, overseeing all finance related matters of the organization. Within this position, he has also acted as compliance officer of the group, offered leadership to all finance divisions, evaluated development opportunities, and led hotel management negotiation, in addition to implementing innovative finance systems and tools globally.
His new responsibilities will include the continuation of day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company, in conjunction with directing and overseeing all aspects of Finance, Group Accounting, Purchasing, Legal and Compliance functions of the organization.
Hackebeil will work closely with CEO Timo Gruenert on providing strategic financial strategy for Oetker Collection while partnering with the hotels’ GMs and MDs on their respective financial plans and economic modeling.
In addition, Hackebeil joins Oetker Collection’s Executive Team and in his new remit will also act as a key stakeholder in hotel project development activities.

Jens Hackebeil, CFO of Oetker Collection, said: “I’m immensely excited by this opportunity and look forward to supporting Timo and the rest of the Executive Committee further in my new position. Hackebeil completed a Bachelor of Arts in International Hospitality at the University of Brighton. In addition to his career progression, Hackebeil has completed the Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management Program at Cornell University and obtained an MBA in Business Administration at Steinbeis School, Berlin in conjunction with SDA Bocconi and NYU Stern.
Since 2017, Hackebeil has also been a part-time lecturer at IU (International University), teaching a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Hospitality Project Planning & Development.
