The project is scheduled to open in 2026 and will be the Group’s third property in Vietnam.
The resort is being developed by Indochina Kajima, a joint venture between Indochina Capital in Vietnam and Kajima Development Pte in Singapore (a subsidiary of Kajima Corporation in Japan).
Mandarin Oriental, Bai Nom will sit on an expansive 800 metre beach, surrounded by raised plateaus with stunning views of the coastline and the ocean. The exclusive location and distinctive design of the resort will provide a perfect backdrop for a wide variety of personalised experiences, encompassing wellness retreats, cultural exploration and family-focused activities.
The architecture and design will incorporate many natural Vietnamese elements and local cultural references. 72 suites and villas, including 25 Residences at Mandarin Oriental, will spread out across the 29-hectare site.
Guest accommodation will be located directly on the beach, and dotted through the hills, and feature private terraces and pools. The branded residences will house three to five guestrooms on expansive plots with private gardens, pools and terraces. The Owner and Mandarin Oriental are working together to ensure the resort is designed and developed in a responsible way.
A variety of cuisines will be offered at three restaurant and bars, all with views of the surrounding nature.
A Mandarin Oriental Spa will sit on the resort’s cliff top, providing 360-degree views. It will offer the Group’s signature wellness therapies and treatments along with a variety of personalised or group-based practices, from yoga and meditation to fitness training and nutritional guidance.
Indoor and outdoor heat and wet experiences, a 30-metre lap pool and a sunset pavilion for healthy refreshments will be an integral part of the guest experience.
The resort will offer a broad range of activities, including water sports, outdoor adventure and local excursions to private coves, dive sites and hiking locations.
A Children’s Club with a dedicated swimming pool will be complemented by an activity centre offering outdoor adventure spaces. Traditional and Padel tennis courts will also feature.
“We are excited to be bringing Mandarin Oriental’s legendary service to what promises to be a world class resort and we are delighted to be working with our partners who share the same strong commitment to responsible tourism,” said James Riley, Group Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental.
“The project will complement our two hotels under development in Saigon and Da Nang. This will provide our fans with an opportunity to experience three diverse and fascinating aspects of Vietnam,” he added.
“We look forward to working with Mandarin Oriental on creating a unique property in a stunning pristine location with an unrivalled offering of exceptional experiences,” said Peter Ryder, Indochina Capital’s CEO.
“It is a pleasure to partner with one of the most prestigious brands in luxury hospitality and we look forward to offering our guests an extraordinary leisure destination where they can explore the beauty of Vietnam and relax with the renowned service of Mandarin Oriental,” he added.
