The appointment expands the company’s leadership team by adding its first in-house legal position. In his new role, Coy will Provide counsel, leadership and guidance on all legal issues arising with respect to hotel operations, hotel development, corporate governance and asset management.
“Reaching a pivotal point in our company’s growth trajectory necessitated creating this in-house role to provide value-driven solutions and advice on complex legal issues to help the company avoid pitfalls, overcome obstacles and continue our success,” said David Wani, CEO, Twenty Four Seven Hotels.
“Gabe brings specific legal expertise to areas of high need – namely transactional and employment law – in an increasingly challenging operating environment that demands skilled in-house legal acumen to improve company performance. It is essential to our growth strategy to incorporate this role to elevate our strategic decision-making, improve functional effectiveness of the organization, increase our efficiency and safeguard the company.”
Prior to joining Twenty Four Seven, Coy was the principal attorney at Coy Law Firm, where he provided “outside general counsel” transactional and litigation services in the areas of business and employment law to small and mid-size businesses. He worked at such prestigious firms as Levinson, Arshonsky & Kurtz; Cadden & Fuller, LLP; and Loeb & Loeb, LLP.
Additionally, he served as chief operating officer and general counsel for 4G Wireless, Inc., a Verizon Wireless Premium Retailer that owned and operated 160 retail outlets that later rebranded as 4G Ventures, and managing director and general counsel for IT Recycle, LLC, a cell phone recycling start-up.
“The creation of this new role had its genesis in identifying someone who had the requisite industry experience and legal discernment but also who operates as a business enabler and, most importantly, was a great cultural fit,” said Drew Hardy, president, Twenty Four Seven Hotels.
“For us, the role of legal counsel is not just managing the legal risks but being a strategic business partner who understands the pressure points, strategy and objectives of our business and effectively communicates the risks and legal issues involved to our decision making. Given Gabe’s skill set, key areas in which this role will have its most significant impact will be increasing efficiency, reducing costs and mitigating risks internally across company departments while advising on and facilitating our growth goals as we continue to add new properties and services.”About Twenty Four Seven HotelsTwenty Four Seven Hotels is a third-party management company that delivers highly specialized services in hotel operations, investment and development.
