Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) today announced the opening of the wellbeing-focused Grand WUJI Hotel in Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu Province, which marks the fourth property in China for The Unbound Collection by Hyatt as the brand expands its footprint globally in markets that matter most to guests and World of Hyatt members.
“We are very excited to welcome guests to experience an extraordinary journey at Grand WUJI Hotel,” said Mr. Jenkin Li, general manager of the hotel. “At Grand WUJI Hotel, the essence of a healthy lifestyle is integrated into every detail of the guest experience. The result is a revitalizing sanctuary that nourishes mind, body and soul, filled with the cultural heritage of Nanjing, the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties in China.”
Previously known as The Yovoy Hotel, Grand WUJI Hotel’s name references the concept of five seasons in Mandarin – spring, summer, long summer, autumn, winter, known as “WUJI.” WUJI is the foundation for the guest experience, which is inspired by a deep sense of personal wellbeing and traditional Chinese medicinal culture. The hotel spans an area of 333,681 square feet (31,000 square meters), with a total construction area of 871,876 square feet (81,000 square meters). Constructed according to national environmental standards, the four free-standing buildings are linked by an expansive central garden where guests can discover soothing spaces for meditation, outdoor yoga and Tai Chi. Exterior greenery makes the hotel appear to be floating in its surrounding urban environment and extends indoors blurring the lines between nature and living areas. The simple but dramatic interiors impart a story-worthy Oriental Zen minimalism with natural woods, textured stone and a muted earthen color palette creating a refreshing ambience.Five Seasons DiningChefs at the hotel’s four distinct restaurants focus on creating balanced, seasonal menus filled with nourishing and healing ingredients for guests.
LVQI Lobby Bar is an ideal place for taking in the seasonally changing waterscape of the inner lobby while enjoying Chinese-style high tea and brewed tonics accompanied by the soulful melodies of the ancient Chinese zither. Jia Shu has the distinction of being the first vegan restaurant in a Nanjing luxury hotel. Jade Court features new Cantonese cuisine and classic Huaiyang dishes, with views from the private balconies in each of the six private dining rooms. Five Tastes is an all-day restaurant with garden views and fresh seasonal ingredients and flavors from around the world.Guestrooms Designed for WellbeingGuests can enjoy a modern yet elegant residential environment that is enriched with Chinese design elements in the 272 guestrooms, including 56 suites. Most rooms feature a ‘health corner’ with a Chinese-style daybed for tea and peaceful meditation. Each suite is also equipped with a smart mirror that automatically synchronizes with a scale to offer guests personalized health data. The music playing through the audio system in guestrooms is adjusted according to the five seasons.Meetings and EventsAccessed via a private entrance, nearly 32,291 square feet (3,000 square meters) of meeting venues host a variety of conferences, special events and weddings, supported by a professional events team. The 12,916-square-foot (1,200-square-meter) Five Season Banquet Hall can accommodate up to 1,200 people and features a 538-square-foot (50-square-meter) LED screen for presentations. Six multifunctional conference rooms provide elegant spaces for small and medium-sized meetings and banquets.
Weddings held in the inner courtyard are filled with scented osmanthus trees, leading out to an expansive lawn offering a scenic setting for photography. Beyond the usual high-end event amenities, including complimentary high-speed internet and advanced audio-visual equipment, unique health amenities for conference attendees include customized seasonal menus and activities such as Tai Chi, yoga and meditation to help relax, focus and motivate.WellbeingAt the 24/7 fitness center with Technogym equipment, guests can benefit from a comprehensive health assessment and join in energy-boosting workouts in the 2,152-square-foot (200-square-meter) Energy Room or indoor heated swimming pool overlooking the garden. Guests are also encouraged to explore a deep sense of mindfulness and balance through cultural activities, such as traditional Chinese tea ceremonies in the Zen Tea Room.Special offerTo provide World of Hyatt members with even more ways to be rewarded, members can now earn 500 Bonus Points for qualifying nights stayed at Grand WUJI Hotel from September 22, 2020 to December 31, 2020, as part of World of Hyatt’s ‘500 Reasons To Stay Somewhere New’ offer.
