All-new art-filled building also includes South America’s first Four Seasons Private Residences

To walk through the doors of the new Four Seasons Hotel and Residences São Paulo at Nações Unidas is to step into modern Brazil at its best, a vibrant city where travellers come to experience an exciting cultural destination as well as thriving centre of international commerce and trade, South America’s best medical facilities and so much more. For locals, the new hotel represents the first opportunity to experience Four Seasons in their home country. For a lucky few, the landmark building by HKS Architects in partnership with Aflalo e Gasperini Arquitetos is also a place to call home in one of 84 Four Seasons Private Residences.

The 258-room Hotel is located amid the leafy green spaces along the Pinheiros river in southern Sao Paulo. Hotel guests, residents and locals can now enjoy a new restaurant and a lounge, an oasis-like spa, and a variety of event spaces that can accommodate anything from a private board meeting to multi-room conferences, social galas and weddings for up to 400 attendees.

“Sao Paulo has held a special place in my heart for many years. Now, the opportunity to welcome our first guests from the community and around the world to a city that continues to evolve and excite is a dream come true,” says General Manager Michael Schmid, who has returned to Brazil to lead a team of 220 carefully selected staff who are united in their desire to ensure that every guest’s stay is memorable.

Chef Concierge Luca Medeiros offers a wealth of reasons to be among the new Hotel’s first guests. “We are particularly excited to welcome Formula 1 fans from around the globe during the Brazilian Grand Prix from November 9 to 11, which takes place at the Autódromo de Interlagos just minutes from Four Seasons, and of course here in Sao Paulo we host the world’s largest comic con, CCXP, from December 6 to 9."

Opening offers: A variety of introductory offers are available, including special savings when booking 14 days in advance, a complimentary third night package as well as a hotel credit offer, and the Summer Love Romance Package inclusive of treats designed to welcome couples for a weekend getaway. To book, call +55 11 2526 - 0100, email reservations.saopaulo@fourseasons.com or reserve online.

Welcome to Four Seasons Hotel São Paulo

Just past the welcoming smiles of the Hotel’s team of doormen, bellhops and valets, guests entering the new Four Seasons Hotel São Paulo are immersed in a gallery-like domed space that showcases contemporary works by local artists including a trio of sculptures by Francisco Brennand, a bold and striking painting by Burle Marx, and additional furnishings and works by Tora Brasil and other local designers and artists. A truly stunning spiral staircase floats its way up to the ballroom against a shimmering wall that captures light from both the outdoors and the space’s dramatic chandeliers.

The visual wonders continue as guests reach the Hotel’s cleverly designed pool, which appears to extend out over the surrounding treetops, allowing guests to swim through to the outdoors, or stay within. The fitness centre also offers inspiring skyline views across the treetops just outside. Spa Director Betina Weber and her team of skilled therapists at the Spa offer the latest in modern treatments with a local twist, including bespoke treatments such as the Sacred Feminine ritual, and the Olfactive Journey inspired by ancient aromatic healing therapies.

Only in Brazil: Neto Restaurant is a Reflection of Local Culture and International Tastes

Spend any time in Sao Paulo and you’re likely to notice the proliferation of Italian restaurants in the city. More than just a love of a cuisine, it’s a testament to the city’s strong immigrant community, no more so than at Neto, which literally means “grandson” in Portuguese, designed by renowned international firm EDG. Executive Chef Paolo Lavezzini, explains the restaurant’s “Italian by heart, Brazilian by soil” concept:

“I came to Brazil seven years ago, happy to find so many Italians, but also eager to get to the heart of Brazilian culture. At Neto we are presenting a new generation of culinary talent, chefs with roots here and all over the world, and a passion for innovative dishes that look forward as much as they are inspired by the past.”

Guests will want to return again and again to sample the full menu, but Chef Paolo suggests starting with spaghetti alla pomarola with local goat cheese or the grilled ribeye flavoured with Brazilian chestnut butter as primo examples of the restaurant’s unique approach to Italian cuisine, and for dessert, the torta sbriciolona (Italian crumb cake) with ice cream flavoured with banana and cupuaçu, a rain-forest cousin of the cacao tree.

Visitors to the city may also be struck by the number of Japanese restaurants in Sao Paulo, representing another significant segment of its multi-cultural past and present. As it happens, there’s a little of Japan behind the bar at Four Seasons as well, in the form of Head Mixologist Paulo Ravelli. After spending nine years in Japan and then returning to his home country of Brazil to work with a Japanese restaurant group, Paulo caught the eye of Chef Paolo, who was impressed by his talent and immediately saw that his international experience and dedication to his craft was the perfect complement to the Hotel’s dining concepts.

Look for evidence of the self-taught master bartender’s current obsession with cachaça on the cocktail menus at both Neto and Caju SP, the Hotel’s botequim-style lobby lounge. Best known as the anchor ingredient in Brazil’s world famous Caipirinha, it’s a cane-based spirit with a sweet versatility that lends itself to creative concoctions as well as local favourites.

A Good Night’s Sleep, and So Much More

San Francisco-based BAMO has created guest rooms that welcome guests as though into a private home, with a gracious palette of sensuous lines and touchable textures, accented by pops of vibrant colour. Area rugs on polished wood floors create intimate spaces where business travellers can focus on work, and those at leisure can lean back, put their feet up and relax. Of special interest are the Hotel’s One Bedroom Corner Suites with panoramic views, and the incredible Presidential Suite on the 14th floor, which is ideal for families or those who plan to entertain while staying at Four Seasons.

Doing Business at Four Seasons

In addition to the Hotel’s 1,409 square metres (15,160 square feet) of meetings and events spaces that are available for booking now – not to mention its team of expert event planners whose attention to detail is surpassed only by their creativity – Four Seasons Hotel São Paulo will debut an exclusive Global Traveller Relaxation Lounge in 2019. Here, business travellers booking select room categories will find an array of privileges including dedicated concierge, access to a private boardroom, complimentary refreshments throughout the day, and more.
