“Guests are immediately transfixed by the thoughtful design that draws from San Francisco’s natural beauty - the fog, mist, redwood trees and waters of the Pacific Ocean,” says General Manager Doug Housley. “We’re very proud of the look and feel that the redesign brings to Four Seasons and how it elevates the entire stature of the Hotel and the warm and intuitive service we are known for.”

The final phase of the USD 20 million-dollar transformation will be completed in March 2018 with the renovation of the 277 guest rooms and suites at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel. The Hotel partnered with New York-based Meyer Davis, a design boutique specialising in residential, hospitality, retail and workplace environments, to push the design towards the future in a forward-thinking city.

Design aspects include:

  • A punchy blue and purple palette, complimented by cool greys, that tie the artwork to its urban setting
  • Custom carpets that draw from San Francisco’s fog and mist in the lobby and reception areas, as well as redwood tree rings and Pacific water ripples in the pre-function and function areas
  • Floor-to-ceiling windows in the Veranda Ballroom and Veranda Pre-Function B have new drapery that similarly have a misty glow
  • New furniture pieces are hand-finished walnut slabs and cerused oak, with strong steel and brass accents
  • The Veranda Terrace, the only outdoor space attached to a meeting room in the city, has lounge seating and several cocktail tables from which to enjoy the views of SoMa and Yerba Buena gardens
For the new SoMa Suite at Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco, Meyer Davis drew from the refresh of the surrounding public areas and executed it in bright purples and blues. A custom walnut conference table sits proudly with Eames executive chairs, and a fixture by Californian lighting studio Brendan Ravenhill is installed above. Simple and comfortable, this executive boardroom enhances the amenities of the Hotel and rounds out the improved guest experience.

Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco is known as a place to see and be seen for weddings, social events, special occasions, or in the case of high-profile guests, royalty, celebrities and heads of state, be discreetly out of the public eye. The meeting space is conveniently all located on the fifth floor, and the Promenade allows guests easy access to and from the Veranda Ballroom, Veranda Terrace, the mid-sized Yerba Buena Room and executive suites.
