The Peninsula Paris introduce a range of all new Peninsula Academy Programmes.

Ideally located in the heart of the capital, The Peninsula Paris is the perfect place for families wanting to explore the City of Light. Rich family-oriented programmes not only introduce children to the joys of French culture but also teach something new, revealing an unexpected side to Paris that promises to transforms any stay into an unforgettable family moment:

  • Paris and the Knights: an unmissable walking tour for anyone who enjoys jumping back in time, to discover the mysterious little known side of the city: Medieval Paris!

Journey back to the 15th century following in the footsteps of knights and damsels of Paris. From the world-famous and impressive Notre-Dame Cathedral to the old fortified walls and iconic half-timbered houses of Le Marais via the Medieval Museum, the itinerary is dotted with games and riddles to keep the kids intrigued, and is crowned off with an unforgettable knighting ceremony for little knights!

  • Mystery at The Peninsula Paris: a fun-filled game of investigation which involves following clues placed at different locations around the city. This will be almost like playing the role of  the fictional character Inspector Jacques Clouseau from the famed “‘Pink Panther’” series, who was known as France’s greatest detective, but who was only able to solve a case through a series of bizarre incidents!  An Inspector always needs a smart assistant, so a professional guide will help lead participants to the clues, which could lie anywhere from the fashionable neighbourhood of Saint-Sulpice to the scenic greenery of the Jardin du Luxembourg. The mystery-solving assistant will meet budding inspectors at a secret rendez-vous point at The Peninsula where they will discuss their mission. This fun and family-oriented programme will have everyone competing against each other in a friendly manner. Whoever solves the mystery will win a special prize upon their return to The Peninsula.

  • Treasure Hunt in Le Louvre, Find your Inner Da Vinci: a specialist from an art studio will escort the guests, and help them to use their own creative talent to re-create or re-imagine an iconic work of art: their very own personal masterpiece to take home for friends and family to admire, which – much like the Mona Lisa - will last forever. This programme, full of games and surprises, makes the museum visit a more exciting and fun way to engage younger guest. Children will receive an amazing piece of treasure at the end…!

  • French ABC: all the family can enjoy a playful private beginner French lesson in a cosy Parisian setting. The 90-minute lesson begins when guests meet their certified French teacher at The Peninsula Paris, before going to a very traditional café where learning is so much more fun and can result in ordering some delicious things to eat! Participants will have a wonderful time learning the basics of speaking this beautiful poetic language, without the constraints of too much grammar instruction. Guests can apply their new-found skills when dining in a French restaurant and may even be marvelled at by their fellow diners, and hopefully the “garcons” (waiters) too!

Back at the hotel, the Peninsula Academy offers entertaining workshops with a glimpse behind the scenes at the Avenue Kléber property:

Become a Parfumeur: unique olfactory experience combining wellness and creativity through a workshop which takes place at the Spa. With the help of an expert, guests will learn how to make vividly coloured soaps, such as red berries, melon and lemon sparkling bath ball, and even perfume, in almost the same way that Coco Chanel created her famed No. 5 perfume many years ago. This olfactory experience includes a consultation with a professional “nose” (perfume maker), and will guide the guests to create a bespoke scent of their preference to either keep or bring back as a gift for a loved one.

My Little Peninsula: the new highly interactive app of The Peninsula Paris

Junior guests are invited to join the hotel mascot Peter Bear on an adventure to discover The Peninsula Paris and the city itself as never before through four fun games. This innovative app is available free of charge with iPads also provided for children on request.

With the game ‘Fast and Curious’ join Peter Bear in a race through the streets of Paris, passing by the most iconic monuments aboard The Peninsula Paris’ customised French 2CV fourgonnette.

In addition, rooms at The Peninsula Paris are the best equipped when it comes to technology: 3D TV, and 3D glasses are available, transforming the room into a truly personalised home cinema.

Family stays where the children are placed front and centre

Children are welcomed in their guest room or suite by The Peninsula Hotels' adorable mascot Peter Bear, the plush companion who promises to accompany them right through the night, to dreamland. Peter has also prepared a little book for children and adults with a mass of ideas for walks in Paris and many entertaining suggestions. Child-size bathrobes and slippers embroidered with their names are also available; not forgetting the many rainbow-coloured sweet treats, specially prepared for them by the hotel's pastry chef.

The magic continues throughout the stay. New dishes specially designed for children by Laurent Poitevin, Executive Chef of Le Lobby restaurant, are available right from breakfast time through to dinner or ordered from the room service menu: from colourful carrots, sole fish fingers, bread sticks and cheese mousse to rainbow fruit salad.
