The news follows major global expansion of the brand, aimed at the lifestyle oriented business traveller, with the opening of the first AC by Marriott property in the U.S. - the AC Hotel New Orleans Bourbon - and recent openings in Istanbul and Valencia.
Located just ten minutes by metro from Copenhagen city centre, the AC Hotel Bella Sky Copenhagen impresses with its dramatic modern architecture and interiors; a fusion of sharp angled glass design with modern Scandinavian furnishings and style. This distinctly urban style is synonymous with the AC Hotels by Marriott brand and is aimed at both business and leisure travellers seeking a contemporary urban experience with a strong sense of place. Original furniture by brands such as Finn Juhl, Arne Jacobsen, Moroso, Hay, Erik Jørgensen and GUBI is featured throughout the hotel, alongside modern patterns and textures with a layered colour palette of blues representing the changing colours of the sky throughout the day.
Spacious guestrooms, ranging from standard rooms to suites, are flooded with natural light through floor-to-ceiling windows offering awe inspiring views of the skyline beyond. All technology needs are covered with free Wi-Fi provided throughout the hotel, including the guest rooms, and videos on demand can be viewed on large flat screen TVs whilst lounging on sumptuous king size beds or the stylish, modern sofas and chairs.
For those seeking further relaxation, the impressive aqua spa offers a rejuvenating water-inspired journey from hot and cold pools, rain showers, steam baths and ice fountains followed by heat beds that encourage blood circulation and wellness. It is the ultimate escape after a long business trip or a day of sightseeing.
A number of dining experiences with unique settings are offered throughout the hotel including the Balcony Restaurant serving Nordic Classics and Grills or for those keen to soak up the panoramic views and awe-inspiring sky line, the Sky Bar serves cocktails and Nordic tapas. The lobby bar is the perfect place to meet friends, catch up on business or just relax; serving small plates and snacks.
Meetings and events are expertly catered for throughout the extensive conference area, comprising 48 meeting rooms featuring the latest IT and AV equipment. The hotel also has direct access to Bella Center, Scandinavia’s largest conference centre, which can accommodate up to 30,000 delegates. There is a free shuttle service to and from the airport and the hotel also benefits from its own metro stop.
AC Hotel Bella Sky Copenhagen will be operated by BC Hospitality Group under a franchise agreement and will participate in Marriott Rewards, the company’s award-winning frequent traveller programme, offering exclusive membership privileges across 16 brands, 3,800 destinations and 74 countries.
Marriott International’s luxury and lifestyle brands portfolio currently includes The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, EDITION, JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, the Autograph Collection, Renaissance Hotels, AC Hotels by Marriott and Moxy Hotels. Accounting for nearly 25 percent of the company’s system-wide pipeline, Marriott expects to add more than 200 luxury and lifestyle hotel projects over the next several years, reflecting over $15 billion of investment by the company’s owners and franchisees.
