The resort, the first on Australian soil for the legendary Thai hospitality brand, will in its first phase offer 168 luxury resort apartments with private plunge pools overlooking the Greg Norman-designed Brookwater Golf Course, rated number 1 in Queensland.
Also included in the first phase of the resort will be a Recreation Club with beach-style lagoon pools, lap pools, water slides, a gymnasium, a bridal centre and a wedding chapel; a Resort Clubhouse boasting 4 signature restaurants, a lobby lounge, 24-hour concierge services, an executive club, the brand’s own Devarana Spa, al fresco restaurants and food markets, and extensive meetings and events facilities. Investment in this first phase of the project is approximately AUD 110m and is due to launch Q4 2016.
Upon full completion, the innovative resort will feature a total of 520 luxury resort apartments, a tennis stadium equipped to host international tour events, a water park, a retail emporium, an aquatic centre designed to Commonwealth Games standards, and a Convention Centre set to host conferences, exhibitions and events of all sizes, amounting to a total investment in excess of AUD 550m.
The development is in Springfield, conveniently located within 20 minutes of Brisbane’s central business district and just 30 minutes from the Gold Coast, Australia’s premier tourist destination. Additionally, two international airports are within easy reach of the area.
“The Dusit Thani Brookwater Golf & Spa Resort at First Residence is perfectly placed to serve rising visitor demand to Australia and Queensland, from both local and overseas markets,” shares David Shackleton, Chief Operating Officer of Dusit International.
“Dusit International is ideally placed to optimise the increasing growth in demand from Asia and the Middle East regions. The resort’s location between the two high demand markets of Brisbane and the Gold Coast and its proximity to the up and coming business district of Springfield is a huge advantage and we have every confidence in the resort’s future success.”
Chanin Donavanik, Chief Executive Officer of Dusit International adds, “We are very proud of our company heritage; of exporting the very best of Thai culture to different areas of the world including Nairobi, California and the Maldives. Our brand of Gracious Hospitality has been well-received the world over, and we hope the Australian community will also embrace our unique offering.”
“This resort is the perfect opportunity for Dusit to make its entry into this new market and it represents a significant point in the company’s development. We are confident that alongside our partners World Group UK and Maxsen Capital, the Dusit Thani Brookwater Golf & Spa Resort at First Residence will add even more value to this growing community of families, professionals and individuals seeking the very best in residential and leisure services in Australia.”
