Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas has recently reopened, marking its 25th Anniversary as a leading luxury hotel in the heart of Korea’s capital city, following an extensive 10-month refurbishment by internationally acclaimed design and construction organisation, Rockwell Group.
The refit of the 424-room and 92-suite property focuses on an exciting ‘Western magnificence and Eastern fluidity’ theme that incorporates elements of traditional Korean features and modern Western styles, which can be seen in the new lobby, banquet halls and exterior façade.
Darren Morrish, General Manager, Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas said: "Since opening twenty five years ago, the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas has established itself as the premier destination when visiting Korea, and more specifically the now famous Gangnam district of Seoul. With the completion of our recent remodelling project, we have focused on delivering a perfect location to host a range of events for both leisure and business from small corporate meetings through to large multinational MICE events, banquets and weddings. Boasting the largest pillar-less ballroom in the country whilst retaining Asia's traditional elegance and western magnificence, all within a modern and fluid design, highlights the great uniqueness of this very special hotel and area.”
As well as the redesigned 1,494 square metre Grand Ballroom that can accommodate over one thousand people, the breath-taking lobby pays homage to Korean tradition with traditional motifs and patterns adding flair and drama, with warm lighting consisting of thousands of gold leaves adding to the welcoming and sophisticated space.
The hotel’s location within the central business district and proximity to the COEX Convention and Exhibition Centre makes it popular among guests attending the many international trade shows in Seoul. Business travellers can also continue to stay connected at the Business Centre or use one of our state-of-the-art meetings rooms
Guests seeking exceptional culinary experiences can enjoy the new Grand Kitchen that allows them to explore traditional Korean food as well as international delicacies created by top chefs. Through the open kitchen or at the live cooking stations, diners can watch the chefs create delicious dishes using locally sourced organic ingredients fresh from the surrounding farms.
For authentic dining options the hotel’s other venues include Table 34, serving fine French cuisine, Hakone, a traditional Japanese venue, Marco Polo, which has sweeping views over the Seoul cityscape and the luxurious Grand Deli.
The Metropolitan Fitness Club offers a host of health and wellness options including a fully-equipped gym, indoor golf driving range and a temperature controlled indoor swimming pool for guests to have a refreshing dip whether day or night.
IHG currently has seven hotels open in Korea under the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and Holiday Inn brands.
To celebrate the reopening, Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas is offering a Special Promotion for bookings made between April 20th and June 30 2014. From US$330 per night based on a minimum stay of three nights, the rate includes complimentary daily buffet breakfast, lunch for two persons at Table 34, Gangnam City Tour Bus and upgrade from a Deluxe Room to Junior Suite.
