A Floral Setting by Baptiste

Mandarin Oriental, Paris has appointed Baptiste Pitou to imagine the hotel’s floral decor. His delicate and poetic vision delights guests daily and his modern floral compositions can be seen everywhere in the hotel.

To enhance the entrance to Mandarin Oriental, Paris, Baptiste will create four beautiful floral decorations to distinguish the four seasons of the year, including vases of seasonal flowers, mirrors from which flowers coil, cascading walls of orchids and adornments for the holiday season.

In room are small contemporary bouquets that accentuate the ornate work of interior designer Sybille de Margerie and for special occasions, Baptiste’s team can also create spectacular arrangements to enhance any situation. Most recently 5,000 roses were displayed in the Royale Mandarin Suite for a marriage proposal.

The Garden, an Oasis of Greenery in the Heart of the City

While located in one of the busiest neighbourhoods in Paris, the garden of Mandarin Oriental, Paris is an oasis of serenity. Interspersed with green alcoves, the garden is a peaceful heaven. The black marble fountain at its heart, creates a water mirror in which the trees and the botanical wall made of ivy and star jasmine are reflected.

Emerging from the courtyard’s flooring, trees and bushes form a cocoon of greenery: sweet olive branches, star magnolias, as well as camellias inspiring the name of one of the hotel’s restaurants. All of these plants have been selected for their white flowers.

True to its commitment to sustainable development, Mandarin Oriental, Paris grows its own aromatic herbs in the inner courtyard. Since the beginning of spring, Thierry Marx has been seasoning his dishes with herbs from the garden. Mint, basil or lemon thyme are picked daily.

Since summer of 2012, Mandarin Oriental, Paris has contributed to protect biodiversity by hosting a hive on its roof. 50,000 bees gather nectar from the flowers in the Tuileries Garden and produce a tasty honey. The honey is offered to guests, for breakfast, and at Bar 8 in the Honey Kingston cocktail.

To truly enjoy the garden at Mandarin Oriental, Paris, guests can book the following experiences:

A dining experience at Camélia, starts from EUR 48 per person on weekdays for two courses. For restaurant reservations please contact the hotel on +33 1 70 98 74 00 / mopar-restauration@mohg.com
