DoubleTree by Hilton, Hilton Worldwide’s fastest growing full service brand, today announced the opening of its newest location in Montgomery, Alabama. The 131-room DoubleTree by Hilton Montgomery Downtown, formerly a Clarion, has undergone a 16-month, $13 million renovation to transform the property into an upscale, full-service hotel owned and operated by Ascent Hospitality. The transformation was led by the property’s new management team, Tom Quatrochi, general manager, and Missy Sparks, director of sales, together bringing more than 51 years of combined hospitality experience to the seasoned hotel team.
Situated in downtown Montgomery’s burgeoning entertainment district, the DoubleTree by Hilton Montgomery Downtown unveils a fresh, contemporary look and feel, with renovations to the lobby and check-in areas, complete guest room makeovers – including the addition of 43 suites – and locally-influenced food and beverage offerings. Guests and locals can converge over fresh, farm-to-table cuisine at the hotel’s casual dining restaurant, 1 Two 0, open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, or stop in to Commerce Lounge to enjoy handcrafted cocktails made with fresh-squeezed juices and two local microbrews on tap. A new outdoor terrace garden creates an inviting respite in the heart of the city, just steps from everything Montgomery’s thriving downtown area has to offer – including shopping, sightseeing and key businesses and government offices.
“Our hotel was built to rank among the best Montgomery has to offer. With this renovation and alignment with DoubleTree by Hilton – a brand recognized for its special comforts and acts of kindness – it will quickly regain its position as one of the top hotels in the market,” said Tom Quatrochi. “We look forward to setting a new standard for Montgomery with our contemporary features and service enhancements – starting with the warm chocolate chip cookie welcome.”
A key player in the city’s downtown revitalization effort, DoubleTree by Hilton Montgomery Downtown is just 12 miles from Montgomery Regional Airport at Dannelly Field, and in close proximity to key destinations such as the state capital, the Montgomery Convention Center, RSA Towers, Alabama State University and Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base. Leisure guests will appreciate the hotel’s easy access to Riverwalk Stadium and the city’s cultural attractions including the Rosa Parks Museum, the Civil Rights Memorial, the First White House of the Confederacy and the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.
“Visitors to Alabama have long embraced our hotels in Birmingham and Huntsville, possibly because our genuine and caring approach to customer service resonates with the traditions of southern hospitality,” said John Greenleaf, global head – DoubleTree by Hilton. “The upscale hotel market in Montgomery has been underserved for some time, and the DoubleTree by Hilton Montgomery Downtown is poised to fill that void by giving travelers what they are looking for – contemporary style, a convenient downtown location, and sincere service that is warm and inviting.”
DoubleTree by Hilton Montgomery Downtown offers more than 6,200 square feet of flexible meeting space available for use by outside caterers – a feature unique to the market. Additional amenities include a 24-hour fitness center, a 24-hour business center and complimentary WiFi internet access for all guests throughout hotel. The hotel will also offer DoubleTree by Hilton brand exclusives, including a refreshing array of CITRON body care products by Crabtree & Evelyn, the signature Sweet Dreams bedding package, in-room gourmet coffee and tea service, and an industry-recognized service culture which is built around the idea of CARE (Create a Rewarding Experience for guests, team members and the community).
As a participant in the Hilton HHonors guest loyalty program, the hotel will offer all guests the ability to earn and redeem Hilton HHonors points. All Gold and Diamond HHonors members will receive a welcome gift upon check-in, complimentary Wake Up DoubleTree Breakfast in the hotel restaurant and daily turndown service.
