Meliá White House, an iconic London hotel and the leading hotel in the city for Spanish travellers, has recently presented a number of new features to further improve the guest experience and exceed guest expectations. The centrally located hotel has renovated more than 200 rooms, enhanced its “The Level” executive floors, and transformed its restaurant and bar facilities.
The Meliá White House was built in 1936, and originally opened as The White House luxury apartments. The building retains all of its original architectural style, and is an excellent example of late 1930’s Art Deco. The renovation of this 4-star hotel started in 2011, and has now been completed in 200 of its 581 rooms, including all of the superior rooms and the Meliá The Level VIP service, allowing guests to enjoy an even more exclusive hotel experience during their visit to London.
Guests staying on The Level floor can check-in at a private reception area and visit the exclusive The Level Lounge, where they can enjoy a private breakfast and tea, coffee, soft drinks and snack service. The Lounge also offers a bar service in the afternoon including hot and cold snacks. The Level guests also get a daily newspaper delivery and can use a private meeting room free of charge for an hour.
The Meliá White House has also renovated its The Place Easy Food and Bar, which has a separate public entrance on Osnaburgh Street and serves a great choice of Mediterranean dishes, salad buffet, grilled meats, traditional Spanish tapas and an authentic Spanish paella. The restaurant also offers a take-away service.
The hotel has also presented a new programme of food festivals in which guests can try typical dishes from different countries and take home the delicious recipes, while also having a chance to take part in a competition to win a stay in the “country of the month”. This original programme will begin in February with “The Lovers’ Month”, for which the kitchen staff has prepared an exquisite menu including oysters, and a chance to win a two-night stay in Paris.
The Meliá White House joined the Meliá portfolio in 1999 and has become the quintessential “Spanish” hotel in the British capital. It boasts a superb central location, next to the prestigious Regent’s Park, and close to the city’s major tourist attractions and also the City, London’s financial district.
