• The German-born brand, owned by Meliá Hotels International since 2007, enjoys important growth in cities such as Madrid, Copenhagen and Manchester
• The two hotels will be based in fully-renovated historic buildings, both in excellent locations: the Plaza de Alonso Martínez and Luchana Street
• The hotels are scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2013
Meliá Hotels International will open its first two Innside by Meliá hotels in Spain in early 2013. The first of them will be the Innside Madrid Génova, located in the central Alonso Martínez square, which will be based in a fully-renovated historic building to create a lifestyle four star hotel with 65 rooms. The second hotel will be the Innside Madrid Luchana, with 43 rooms.
Both hotels are the first in Spain for this lifestyle city hotel brand, one of the best ranked brands in its home country Germany, which joined the Spanish company’s brand portfolio in 2007. Since then, Meliá Hotels International has pursued an ambitious expansion plan for the brand, which already has several hotels schedules to open in cities such as Copenhagen, Manchester, Barcelona, Hamburg and Dusseldorf.
Innside by Meliá hotels provide a lifestyle business experience, efficient and smart service, contemporary design and the latest technology, making them an excellent choice for both business and leisure travellers.
The new Innside Madrid Génova in the Alonso Martínez square on the corner with Santa Engracia Street, will provide a library lounge that serves drinks and snacks, and creative meeting spaces. The majority of its 65 rooms provide views of Génova street and the Plaza de Colón.
The Innside Madrid Luchana will be located in Luchana Street on the corner with Francisco de Rojas, and will be a four star hotel providing 43 rooms, a destination bar and a rooftop with stunning views over the Spanish capital.
In the words of Gabriel Escarrer, Vice Chairman and CEO of Meliá Hotels International, "Innside by Meliá meets all the requirements to become a benchmark urban brand in major cities worldwide, and that is why we have a major focus on growing internationally. The new Innside hotels in Madrid, with their superb location and facilities, will definitely help us generate the brand recognition we need to promote this very powerful brand in new markets".
