Luxury Hotel Brand Invites Guests to Record A Song at Abbey Road Studios Where Iconic Music Has Been Made by The Beatles, U2, Pink Floyd & Many Others
Warm up those vocal chords and head to one of the music capitals of the world for a legendary weekend worthy of rock & roll stardom. Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Abbey Road Studios, and The Savoy, A Fairmont Managed Hotel, are joining forces to offer guests the opportunity of a lifetime with a new Record a Song Experience. This special offer invites guests behind the velvet rope for a behind-the-scenes look at one of the world’s most iconic recording studios, which is not accessible to the public, where legends like The Beatles and Pink Floyd have recorded. Once inside, guests will get the ultimate rock star treatment when they record a group song from the Abbey Road Studio catalogue. As a memento from this exclusive experience, guests will hear their recording in a playback session at the studio and receive a copy of their recording, professionally mixed and mastered by Abbey Road Studios engineers to take home.
The rock star treatment doesn’t end at the studio - guests will continue to feel like music royalty with a two-night stay in London at The Savoy complete with a welcome reception, a cocktail master class and a Sunday jazz lunch. Transportation to and from Abbey Road Studios is also provided. The Record a Song Experience is available for the weekends of October 12 to 14, 2012 and November 16 to 18, 2012 with 10 packages available per weekend. Rates start at £780 GBP per person, based on double occupancy. For reservations, guests can call +44 (0) 20 7836 4343, visit fairmont.com/savoy or contact their local travel professional.
The partnership with Abbey Road Studio extends Fairmont’s relationship with EMI Music, the owners of Abbey Road Studios, which already includes guest access to bestselling EMI artists through a variety of channels including the luxury hotel brand’s “Sounds of Fairmont” program. This program brings new and emerging artists to perform live at select properties around the world, and is being extended to include special events at Abbey Road Studios. Fairmont and The Savoy are also working closely with the famed studio on a refurbishment project that will see several of the Abbey Road Studios’ lounges get a complete makeover.
