LHW Immerses Guests in Local Experiences with Arts & Culture Offerings

The buzz on the art scene in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has been the opening of the new Barnes Foundation, and The Rittenhouse Hotel is making it easy for guests to get coveted admission tickets with a variety of offers. Celebrated for its exceptional breadth, depth, and quality, the Foundation's art collection includes works by some of the greatest European and American masters of impressionism, post-impressionist, and early modern art. The Barnes with Dinner Package, valid until the end of 2012, includes overnight accommodations, one ticket per person to the Barnes Foundation and a digital audio guide to the collection, as well as an eight-course tasting menu dinner at Lacroix at The Rittenhouse. The restaurant offers a romantic and evocative dining room, which beckons with the luminous glow of candlelight, and a world-class menu composed of the freshest ingredients. What would a trip to Buenos Aires be without a bit of tango? Faena Hotel has a Passion for Tango package which includes a one-hour tango lesson as well as tickets to the Rojo Tango Show at El Cabaret, as well as a welcome drink, daily breakfast, daily yoga and meditation classes, and access to the fitness center. Priced from USD 465 per night, single or double, the package has a three-night minimum and is available through September. Booking code is S4.

While The Netherlands is world-renowned for its masterful painters, it is also famous for its Floriade Horticultural Exhibition. Hotel de l’Europe in Amsterdam has put together a Floriade Gold Package offering VIP entry for two to Floriade, which includes a special guided tour of the park’s five themed sections: environment, world stage, green engine, education and innovation, and relax and healing; and an on-site cable-car exploration of the expo with breathtaking vistas. The package also includes lunch at the beach club prepared by Michelin-starred chefs and a Floriade-themed afternoon tea. Valid until October 7, 2012, the package requires a three-night minimum and is priced from EUR 459 per night, single or double. Booking code is PX.

Franz Kafka, Alphons Mucha, Antonin Dvorak – the city of Prague nurtured and inspired them all. Indeed, the city itself is a veritable gold mine of culture, art and architecture. Hotel Le Palais Prague has crafted an Arts and Culture offer to help guests get the most of a short visit, which includes a three-day Prague Card providing access to over 50 attractions and museums; a three-hour guided tour of the historic center of the city; round-trip limousine transfers for the airport or train station; daily breakfast; a three-course candlelight dinner one evening; complimentary mini-bar and in-room coffee and tea facilities; and access to the fitness center. The riches of Siena are many, and just once a year the magnificent pavement or floor of its Duomo – comprising 56 etched and inlaid marble panels – is revealed to the public for about eight weeks from mid-August to mid-October. Guests of the Grand Hotel Continental will be able to experience this artistic masterpiece with the Arts & Culture: Discover the Duomo Pavement package, valid from August 18 to October 21, 2012. Priced from EUR 346 per night single, EUR 367 double, the offer includes buffet breakfast daily in the restaurant; an Opa Pass for up to two adults - allowing entrance to the Duomo with the open pavement, the Crypt, the Opa Museum, the Baptistry, and the Oratory of San Bernardino. A twonight minimum stay is required. Booking code is S15.

The multi-cultural influences of Spain’s past are on full display in the southern regions of the country, and Barcelo La Bobadilla outside of Granada gives guests an introductuon to that past with its Special Granada Break, valid through Octoher 2012. Priced from EUR 734, it
includes two nights’ accommodation, daily buffet breakfast, a guided tour of the Alhambra palaces with private round-trip transfers, dinner one evening in the gastronomic La Finca restaurant, daily access to the spa water circuit and VAT. A two-night minimum stay is required, and the booking code is P5.

Until September 23, guests of the Widder Hotel in Zurich can enjoy the public art festival Art and the City. Presenting some 40 works by artists from all over the world, the exhibition includes sculptures, installations, performances, and posters, some in unconventional places, facilitating a new way of experiencing Zurich West. The hotel concierge can assist with information on specific tours and exhibits, which are free of charge. Priced from CHF 495 per night single, CHF 645 double,the hotel’s Art and the City package includes a glass of champagne in the lounge or bar, and daily breakfast.
