The latest addition to the Xotels hotel management portfolio is the Rimondi Grand Hotel in Crete. The luxury all suite spa resort, located on the north coast of the island near the town of Rethymnon will open its doors in June of 2012. As part of its hotel asset management folio Xotels is implementing a revenue management, distribution and internet marketing strategy for this hotel.
'It is once again an exciting project we are working on. A new opening is always challenging, but it seems construction is well on track to receive the first guests in June of 2012. The Rimondi Grand Hotel & Spa Resort will be a luxury all-suite property catering to the traveler who is looking for a bit more privacy, plus spacious accommodation. It is located on the hilltop of an olive tree plantation grove overlooking the Aegean Sea, just a few minutes away from the Venetian town of Rethymno. It offer tranquility in a peaceful and luxurious setting away from the busy tourist areas. And it also has a private beach that can be reached by a little mini train from the resort. It will be quite different from the other hotels on the island' comments Patrick Landman of Xotels.
Remko West of Xotels adds, 'We have been working on an alternative distribution strategy for this hotel. We do not want to solely rely on tour operators and will be stimulating a lot of sales through the own hotel website and online travel agencies. This will allow us to implement a more dynamic pricing structure. We will be able to yield rates in this hotel and really match supply and demand.'
Patrick continues, 'As Remko said, we are really working on pushing direct sales for this hotel and are working heavily on the SEO of the hotel website (www.rimondigrand.com). We have launched it in English, German and Dutch and are now working on adding Greek and Spanish. We are also planning to add Russian and Italian. Moreover are we actively promoting the hotel through FaceBook and a Blog. Social Media Marketing is very important and cannot be ignored as a part of the overall online marketing strategy.'
