Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, LLC, a subsidiary of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation , today announced the addition of the upscale, 241-room Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort and Spa in Tucson, Ariz., to the brand's expanding portfolio of hotels and resorts in the United States.
The full-service property is the third hotel in Arizona to fly the Wyndham(R) flag, joining sister properties Wyndham Green Valley Canoa Ranch Resort in Green Valley and Wyndham Garden Hotel Prescott in Prescott. It is also the first in the state to join the prestigious Wyndham Grand(R) Collection, an ensemble of distinguished hotels within the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts(R) brand that represent one-of-a-kind experiences in key destinations with refined accommodations, attentive service and relaxed surroundings.
Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort and Spa is managed by Wyndham Hotel Management, Inc., and owned by Westward Look Resort, LLC.
"This classic Sonoran Desert resort is known for blending historic, natural elements with modern-day luxuries while providing guests an unparalleled lodging experience," said John Green, brand senior vice president of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. "The distinctive service, unmatched offerings and picturesque atmosphere at Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort and Spa are shining examples of what travelers expect from our prestigious collection of Wyndham Grand hotels and resorts and we are very proud to welcome the property to our family."
Originally built as a hacienda-style family home in 1912, this 80-acre resort is situated at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains in the Sonoran Desert, just 15 miles from Tucson International Airport, nine miles from the Tucson Convention Center and eight miles from the University of Arizona.
Guest rooms and suites are housed throughout the expansive resort grounds in 35 two-story buildings. Each features a private balcony or patio with scenic desert, mountain or city views; Southwestern decor; vaulted ceiling; 42-inch flat-screen television; and high-speed wireless Internet access.
The resort offers guests wide-ranging activities and amenities, including biking and hiking trails, horseback riding, eight tennis courts, three pools and a 24-hour fitness center offering mountain views and cardio equipment with individual televisions. Additional hotel features include a rooftop terrace, high-powered telescope for star-gazing, business center, gift shop, specialty gardens and nature gallery. The on-site Sonoran Spa specializes in treatments utilizing organic products and desert botanicals, including therapeutic herbs grown in the spa's Wellness Garden.
Flexible meeting and event space at Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort and Spa consists of 16,000 square feet in 16 rooms that can accommodate up to 450 attendees, as well as 4,300 square feet of exhibition space. Event services include meeting and wedding specialists, audio-visual capabilities and high-speed wired and wireless Internet access.
Two restaurants provide guests with easy access to varying dining experiences during their stays. The award-winning GOLD, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, is known for contemporary American cuisine with desert-inspired flavors and an extensive wine selection. The casual Lookout Bar & Grille, open daily, offers comfort food with a contemporary twist, specialty cocktails and indoor and outdoor dining. Restaurant chefs harvest fresh produce from the resort's on-site Chef's Garden.
Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort and Spa has been designated a Certified Green Hotel by the Arizona Hotel & Lodging Association, which recognizes hotels for their efforts in protecting Arizona's natural resources.
