Crystal Cruises has been awarded three Travel Weekly magazine Magellan Awards for this year’s $25 million redesign of its largest ship, Crystal Serenity. Given for top design in the luxury cruise ship category, Crystal Serenity earned Gold Awards for both its Penthouses and Non-Suite Staterooms, and a Silver Award for Overall Ship.
“Designers II BY IV Design Associates Inc. deserve credit for ultimately envisioning our award-winning look,” says Crystal President Gregg Michel. He adds: “Being the best is not about being the biggest or the newest—luxury travelers have enormous appreciation for design and space, so appealing to those sensibilities was what guided us the most in our redesign of Crystal Serenity.”
The accolades honor the highest standards of excellence in a broad range of travel industry segments. Winners are determined by a panel of industry luminaries and will be profiled in Travel Weekly’s October 31st issue.
With additional 2011 awards such as Travel and Leisure magazine’s “World’s Best Large-Ship Cruise Line” for the 16th consecutive year, Crystal has earned more “World’s Best” awards than any other cruise line, resort, or hotel in history—all from the line’s passion for taking care of guests in an inviting environment of extraordinary space, quality and choices. Itineraries of 7-98 days are available throughout the world, with “Book Now” savings of up to $4,000 per couple until October 31.
