Lend Me An Ear
Understanding that music is a social ritual and thereby defines the spaces in which it is performed, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise has created its Mountains, Music & Masterpieces Package. Together with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, leading composer-conductor Michael Parsons, and others, this package explores this intriguing subject through a weekend of idea sharing, expert insights and interaction. Package includes accommodation in a Mountain View room on Fairmont’s Gold Floor along with welcome reception, educational seminars on music and its connection to architecture, lunch and dinner on Saturday as well as Sunday brunch, and valet parking. Available May 27-29, 2011, rates start from $699 CAD per night with a two-night minimum stay required.
As the official Jazz Roots host hotel, The Fairmont Dallas offers the Larry Rosen’s Jazz Roots Series Package. Since 1969, The Fairmont Dallas, often referred to as “the arts district hotel”, has generously been a patron of the arts by partnering with many of the city’s art and cultural institutions. In support of this dynamic series, the hotel’s package includes nightly accommodation, tickets to the show, a pre-performance meal and a commemorative jazz CD. A Portrait of Society
Acclaimed photographer E.O. Hoppe’s recently assembled collection of studio portraits and photojournalist studies go on display February 17 - May 30, 2011 at the National Portrait Gallery in London. The exhibit features images of notable figures and fascinating studies of the working class - from street musicians to bus drivers, postmen and even a 1937 photograph of servers from The Savoy’s River Restaurant feeding birds in the Embankment Gardens. In celebration of this important exhibit, The Savoy extends a champagne toast to patrons of the hotel’s River Restaurant who mention the National Portrait Gallery at time of reservation. At The Fairmont Mara Safari Club in Kenya, art, theatre and history come together when guests visit one of the local Masai Manyatta villages and experience the traditional way of living. The spirit of Italy comes to the U.S. capital this spring as the city celebrates its Italian lineage with a citywide cultural promotion, La Dolce D.C. from March 1 - May 30, 2011.
