Minor International, one of Asia Pacific’s largest hospitality and leisure companies, is pleased to announce the appointment of Philip Schaetz as Vice President Revenue Management, with responsibility for overseeing all revenue management, pricing and distribution activities of Anantara and other operated properties within the Minor Hotel Group.
Prior to joining Minor, Schaetz spent three years as Vice President of Revenue Management, International Operations for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, during which time he oversaw pricing and revenue management for Hyatt’s hotels outside of North America as well as the Park Hyatt and Andaz brands globally.
A German national, after graduating at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas and prior to joining Hyatt, Schaetz held positions at Hotel du Rhone in Geneva, Switzerland and Hotel Rafael in Munich, Germany. Commencing his career with Hyatt in his home country in 1994 he held a number of roles with the company and also played an integral role in the opening of Hyatt's first central reservations center outside North America in Mainz, Germany where he spearheaded revenue management for Central Europe. From this point in time, and before his most recent Vice President of Revenue Management role for the company, he served as Director of Pricing and Distribution for Asia Pacific, where he was responsible for pricing, distribution and revenue management, based at Hyatt’s divisional office in Hong Kong.
Dillip Rajakarier, Chief Operating Officer for Minor International, comments, “Philip is a very welcome addition to our Bangkok based management, providing Minor International with a wealth of brand knowledge and extensive experience in his field of expertise. He joins us as at an important time when revenue optimization is critical to the success of the business as we continue to expand in Asia, the Indian Ocean and the Middle East.”
