Serbian professional cooks taking part in the Gastronomy Festival in Istanbul have won a silver medal, reports said.
They competed in the Chef's Team Grand Prix category.
This success "included the Serbian national kitchen among the top cuisines in the world", according to President of the Serbian Chefs Association Uroš Urošević, who headed the Serbian team, stated for Tanjug.
At the end of March, Istanbul was a world gastronomic center with over 2,000 participants from over 25 countries who competed for awards in different categories.
The Serbian team lost the first place just by a few points, and the gold medal went to the host country Turkey.
Apart from Serbia, the culinary teams from Great Britain, Canada, U.S., Egypt, Australia, Russia, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Albania, Montenegro, Cyprus, Greece, Israel, Korea, Bulgaria, Indian, Lithuania, Mongolia and several other countries participated in the competition.
