Steve Leung Designers Ltd reinforces its position at the forefront of cutting edge Asian design through the latest innovative projects in Hong Kong which include the newly opened Hyatt Regency, Sha Tin and the Crowne Plaza, Causeway Bay.

Renowned local born architect and designer, Steve Leung, was the obvious choice for the Hyatt Regency Hong Kong Sha Tin. Complementing its environment and academic location on the campus of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Steve Leung adopted an intellectual contemporary design which utilises an array of raw materials and warm earthy colour tones.

As an extension of its natural surroundings, the reception desk is highlighted by a stunning walnut tree feature whilst sculptures, walnut floors and minimal yet stylish furniture add to the ambience.

The fourth floor features the Chinese restaurant Shatin 18 and western Tin Tin Bar. The Tin Tin Bar provides an atmospheric and luxurious tavern-like venue including a square wooden bar counter accompanied by sleek private seating on red zebra-print carpeting. Shatin 18 graces the same floor but in stark contrast utilises bird cages, window lattice and oriental decor. The restaurant features an outdoor seating area and four interactive show kitchens enabling guests to appreciate the authentic preparation of Chinese cuisine.

The use of natural elements runs throughout the hotel including ash wood, granite and marble alongside leaf patterned artifacts that enhance the tranquil environment in the hotel’s luxurious spa.

The hotel's 567 guest rooms with views of Tolo Harbour, Lion Rock and Sha Tin Racecourse are both clean and modern in finish. Tailor made white oak or dark brown wood furniture; white wooden sliding cabinet doors, a transparent glass division and bamboo pattern wallpaper evoke a warm natural ambience.

Steve Leung’s range of design is evident in the juxtaposition of the Hyatt Regency and the Crowne Plaza Hong Kong. The latter is dynamic, bold and adorned with contemporary art works. An electric atmosphere in the glamourous bar area is accentuated by the vibrant purple, blue and green lighting. Modern classic chandeliers and a carefully crafted circular bar add to the decadent pathways: under lit pathways generate the sensation of walking on a catwalk. Guests looking for a venue that is both dazzling and vintage need look no further than the Crowne Plaza’s 28th floor.

Accommodating guests’ changing moods and desires, the sky garden on the 27th floor is the ideal location to sit back, relax, and appreciate the skyline and the soothing sounds of the Crowne Plaza’s water features. Despite being in the middle of Hong Kong’s bustling city guests can unwind and experience a resort-like atmosphere.

Having conquered Hong Kong’s design scene with high end brands, Steve Leung Designers Limited is also making an impact on the world stage. Having gained recognition in the Middle East, Steve Leung was invited to design the interior of the fine dining restaurant 'Ushna', located in Abu Dhabi's Souq Qaryat Al Beri.

Other notable regional projects recently completed by Steve Leung Designers Ltd include: the impressive penthouse apartment in One LaSalle, Hong Kong; the luxurious show flat in 39 Conduit Road, Hong Kong; the poetic Shanghaiese restaurant Xiao Nan Guo Premier at One Peking; and the elegant retail outlet Emphasis Jewellery at One Pacific Place, Hong Kong,
