Barceló Debuts New Caribbean Resort, Designed Exclusively for Family Gathering Getaways
This winter travel season, many families will experience the unique difficulties of traveling and gathering together under one roof. Designed exclusively to accommodate the distinct needs of family getaways, the all-new, all-inclusive Barceló Bavaro Family Deluxe, part of the four-in-one Barceló Bavaro Beach Resort complex in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, opened its doors in December, welcoming families with spacious, luxuriously appointed accommodations as well as a variety of activities and dining choices to satisfy every family member's tastes.
Located just steps away from one of the world's best beaches, according to National Geographic, the resort offers 1.2 miles of pristine, white sands and tranquil waters, which are protected by a coral reef and serve as a natural swimming pool. As the self-proclaimed "most family-friendly resort in the entire Caribbean," Barceló Bavaro Family Deluxe features 180 deluxe family rooms, offering the technology and comforts to be expected of a Barceló signature B-room: the latest in in-room entertainment, including a 32-inch LCD television with USB port, incorporated DVD and video on demand, high-speed WiFi access and iPod/MP3 connections; luxurious in-room amenities, such as raindance-style showers and plush bathrobes with slippers; and Barcelo's signature bedding, guaranteeing one of the best night’s sleep in the Caribbean.
What is perhaps most notable of the resort's unique offerings is its family-friendly design: separate spaces for adults seeking privacy and children seeking freedom, all under the security of one roof. The adult area features a king-sized bed, a sofa bed and a private room with outdoor terrace and private Jacuzzi, while the children's area offers two beds and a terrace, satisfying kids' need for freedom while ensuring peace of mind for their nearby parents.
Guests staying in one of the 180 deluxe family rooms receive full access to the other facilities and activities at the four-in-one resort complex, including thirteen individual restaurants, the adult-supervised Barcy Kids' Club and playground, regulation-size baseball and soccer fields, a kids-only water park and a Broadway-style theater with live nightly entertainment. Parents can have their own fun too with an adults-only pool and a 24-hour casino. The resort additionally boasts an 18-hole green that is on its way to become a signature P.B. Dye golf course. Nine holes recently completed their re-design, but all 18 holes are currently available for play. The remaining nine will be renovated following peak season this year.
