As the global economy begins to show tentative signs of recovery, The Leading Hotels of the World is devoting additional resources to ensure success for its colleagues in the groups and meetings market.
The organization has recently hired two new regional directors of sales to address the distinctive needs of buyers in the Northeast and in the Western United States.
Jeanette Stancato has been designated director of group sales for the Northeast region. Her 17-year career includes positions on both the operations and sales sides, giving her a unique perspective when it comes to how a property can effectively deliver on the proposals it offers its clients. She has most recently served as director of group sales with The Ritz-Carlton, Battery Park in Lower Manhattan, and had held posts in catering sales, promotions and events management at The Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile and the Cleveland Renaissance Hotel.
Cathy Myers has been named director of group sales for the Western region. She comes to Leading Hotels after a successful 15-year tenure in key sales positions at Destination Hotels & Resorts: on the national level for Tempe Mission Palms Hotel and in a regional capacity at Wild Dunes Resort. During that time she has consistently exceeded her goals in delivering high-income business to the property. She enjoys long-standing relationships with customers in the industry, and has skillfully assisted them through transition periods at the property level to ensure their ongoing satisfaction.
“We recognize that different parts of the country have different requirements when it comes to finding the perfect fit for their groups and incentives clients,” said Kenan Simmons, vice president of sales for the Americas. “We have conducted exhaustive searches to find seasoned professionals with comprehensive experience in the meetings business to make sure our customers are matched up with the hotel or resort that best meets the demands of each group.”
