Orton to provide leadership and coordination of Condo Business Unit

Outrigger Enterprises Group announced today the promotion of Teri Orton to vice president, condominium resort marketing for the Outrigger Condominium Collection, effective January 16, 2010. In this newly created position, Orton will be responsible for providing leadership and coordination of the marketing functions for Outrigger’s Condominium Collection, including the development and implementation of new plans and programs to grow revenue. In addition, she will be responsible for repositioning and improving results at some of Outrigger’s existing condominium properties throughout Hawaii. She will also work closely with the new team at The Kapalua Villas on Maui to ensure a successful launch and continued success.

Ms. Orton first joined Outrigger in 2008 as general manager of the OHANA Islander Waikiki hotel before moving to the Embassy Suites® - Waikiki Beach Walk® as director of sales and marketing in February 2009.

Prior to joining Outrigger, Ms. Orton was the regional general manager and resort operations/asset manager for Anekona Development. In that capacity, Ms. Orton was responsible for the overall operations of the 343-room Ilikai condo-hotel, the 350-room Hilton Kauai Beach Resort, and the 216‑room Aloha Beach hotel. Ms. Orton worked closely with the property general managers in all aspects of fiscal planning and hotel operations and also with the developer on all project planning for each property.

Ms. Orton served previously as general manager of the former W Honolulu – Diamond Head hotel and was responsible for the daily operations of this 51-room boutique hotel and fine dining restaurant. During her time there, Ms. Orton handled everything from ensuring brand standards, to planning a $3 million renovation, to spearheading public relations and sales & marketing efforts for the property. While there, she also held the positions of director of rooms and director of revenue management.

She’s an accomplished athlete and her “Ironman” level stamina and creative approach to building business and customer relationships will make a big difference in sharpening our marketing and sales focus for the Outrigger Condominium Collection.”

Solomon concluded by saying, “Outrigger views the condominium segment as one of our leading growth opportunities and bringing Teri into this new position is one of several initiatives we’re taking to provide stronger support for this line of business.”
