In honour of Sources de Caudalie's 10th anniversary, Maison Martin Margiela will be redesigning the famous Ile aux Oiseaux suite
Alice and Jérôme Tourbier's desire to surprise their guests coincided with the ideas of Maison Martin Margiela, who agreed to redesign the hotel's mythical Ile aux Oiseaux ("Bird Island") suite.
Alice Tourbier explains: "We contacted Maison Martin Margiela because we share the same attention to detail and passion for the sort of beauty that both enchants and surprises…
By leaving this ultra-fashionable designers 'carte blanche', we wanted to let their minimalist, avantgarde spirit express itself in the heart of our vineyards. We are very pleased with this unusual collaboration that will offer our clients an uplifting, unforgettable experience in a completely original atmosphere!"
As for Maison Martin Margiela, they declare, "We are very interested in this project, totally in keeping with the development of our design activity, because it enables us to convey the key aspects of our artistic identity in an environment that is very unusual for us.
Redecorating the Ile aux Oiseaux suite is a true challenge: to adapt our creativity, often regarded as iconoclastic, avant-garde and experimental to a warm, comfortable luxury hotel".
The Ile aux Oiseaux redesigned by Maison Martin Margiela will open in mid-December 2009.
