$150-million luxury tower, set to open November 20, 2009, will usher in new era of energy and style in downtown Las Vegas
Spectacular, contemporary luxury and elegance will soon embrace guests of the highly anticipated Rush Tower, the newest addition to the legendary Golden Nugget Las Vegas. Scheduled to open on Nov. 20, 2009, the $150-million development will enhance the historic property's already unrivaled hotel, gaming and dining options, and firmly establish the resort as the preferred destination on the Fremont Street Experience, located in the heart of downtown Las Vegas.
"Rush Tower will now define the ultimate Las Vegas experience providing exceptional accommodations as well as add to the already supreme dining opportunities and exceed the unparalleled customer service already delivered to our guests," said Tilman Fertitta, Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of Landry's Restaurants, Inc., which owns the property. "The tower is the latest in our ongoing renovation and expansion projects at the Golden Nugget, which now total more than $300-million, and which will certainly up the ante for other properties in Las Vegas."
Guests arriving at Rush Tower will immediately be taken back by the impressive porte cochere which is accented by a new, million dollar landscaped entrance at First Street and Carson Street. As visitors enter the spacious lobby, they will be captivated by the posh furnishings and brilliant, custom-designed lighting which combine to create an inviting and sophisticated ambiance. Guests will then be greeted by the distinctive, floating reservation desk offering private check-in service for Rush Tower with a magnificent 75,000-gallon tropical aquarium fish tank as its backdrop.
After check-in, guests will be escorted to one of the tower's more than 500 well-appointed guestrooms. The guestrooms are 20 percent larger than the Golden Nugget's current North and South standard rooms and offer exceptional room selections for any occasion. The tower also includes four Penthouse Suites and 70 Junior Corner Suites, which provide incredible views of the Las Vegas Strip or of the famous Golden Nugget pool. Guestrooms are furnished with contemporary and sleek decor and complemented by stylish and fiery hues. Standard features include upgraded pillow-top mattresses, feather down comforters and 42-inch plasma televisions.
Since "man cannot live by bread alone," Rush Tower entices guests with a superb dining option with the inclusion of the Chart House Restaurant. The restaurant will feature a new custom-designed menu offering signature Chart House dishes as well as numerous specialty items unique to the Golden Nugget location. The spacious dining area, designed with modern furnishings and rich colors inspired by the sea, will seat approximately 200. A 75,000-gallon tropical aquarium filled with more than 1,000 colorful and exotic fish will be the centerpiece of the restaurant with a view from the lobby.
During their stay, guests can take full advantage of the warm Las Vegas sun as they relax and enjoy a refreshing cocktail by the tower's two-level, infinity-edge pool. Surrounded by six plush cabanas and covered lounging areas, complete with day beds, this pool area creates the perfect desert oasis. The pool adjoins the third floor of The Tank, a year round outdoor swimming pool complete with 200,000-gallon, live shark aquarium, which was voted one of the "Top Ten Pools in the World" by Forbes Traveler.
Guests will enjoy the convenience of the casino located in the lobby of Rush Tower, which expands the Golden Nugget's dynamic gaming features by adding popular slot and video poker machines as well as more table games. A new, upscale retail complex will round out the offerings and will include d'Oro fine watches and jewelry, high-end apparel by Nineteen Forty-Six Boutique, tantalizing desserts and confections at the Chocolate Box, and The Signature Shoppe providing unique souvenirs of the iconic property.
According to Las Vegas Mayor Oscar B. Goodman, "The debut of the new tower will not only add to the excitement of the area but will establish Landry's Restaurants as a leader in the redevelopment of downtown Las Vegas."
The Golden Nugget is currently taking reservations for Rush Tower.
