Pan Pacific Hotels Group announces the appointment of Ian Ekers as General Manager of Parkroyal on Kitchener, Singapore.
A highly experienced hotelier whose previous experience spans successful terms at Raffles the Plaza (now Fairmont Singapore), Ritz-Carlton, and Shangri-La, Ian, in his new appointment will oversee operations at the 534-room Parkroyal on Kitchener.
Ian returns to Singapore after close to three years as Resident Manager at Sunway Resort Hotel and Spa in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. There, he developed new products and services for a differentiated experience at the resort hotel. This included the resort’s new executive ‘The Club’ floor, as well new F&B offering Ministry of Sound, which opened in July 2008. As Executive Assistant Manager at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt, he was part of the team tasked with opening the group’s first hotel in Africa. Ian also played a key role in the opening of The Ritz-Carlton Millennia Singapore in the ’90s.
“As Pan Pacific Hotels Group expands its presence in the region, it is of great importance that we attract the best talents onboard,” said Mr. A. Patrick Imbardelli, President and CEO, Pan Pacific Hotels Group. “We are thrilled to have Ian back in Singapore, and have his extensive management and operations background, excellent leadership skills, and drive for service excellence to leverage on.
“It is great to be back in Singapore and leading the team at Parkroyal on Kitchener,” said Ian Ekers. “The hotel’s location in a bustling ethnic enclave in the city lends it great character and energy. I look forward to sharing the unique charms of the hotel with guests, as well as delivering the Parkroyal brand of hospitality to them.”
