The Fairmont Beijing-Ancient dynasties merge with modern wonders

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, a global hospitality leader with a distinctive collection and worldwide reputation for excellence, is making its landmark entry into China with the opening of the Fairmont Beijing.

Scheduled to officially open in the summer of 2009, the Fairmont Beijing is located in Yong An Li an unrivalled position as the ‘Gate’ to Beijing’s Central Business District. Providing ease of accessibility for business or leisure travelers, the hotel is destined to become one of the city’s most celebrated addresses.

For over a century, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts has primarily been operating within the North American marketplace but is fast becoming a global hospitality leader with 56 distinctive hotels in 15 countries and growing (over 20 properties currently in development). The diverse portfolio includes historic icons, elegant resorts and modern city center properties including iconic landmarks like London’s Savoy hotel, The Fairmont San Francisco, and New York's The Plaza. In Asia, Fairmont Beijing joins sister property
The Fairmont Singapore with a number of regional developments in the pipeline, including the Fairmont Peace Hotel.

With its signature rose-gold glass curtain façade and exceptionally crafted architecture, the Fairmont Beijing offers the ultimate in presence, grandeur and elegance taking its rightful place amid the great landmarks, both modern and historic in the heart of Beijing’s downtown district.

Touches of local flavour and overtures of contemporary flair are evident throughout the design elements. Fairmont Beijing’s magnificent lobby design was inspired by traditional artistic themes and motifs and also boasts such wonders as the 16 meter artisan-crafted Crystal Lighting in the shape of a dragon, which upon closer inspection, reveals hundreds of tiny crystal fish, a symbol of success and prosperity.

Meeting space has been aptly constructed in the likeness of Beijing’s famous Hutongs- a reverent homage to old Beijing ‘courtyard’ culture. With state-of-the-art meetings rooms complete with a meeting concierge, personalized service and themed dining rooms, these inspired spaces create a truly memorable experience for every meeting, conference or seminar.

Offering 222 superbly appointed guest rooms and suites, including Fairmont Gold, the brand’s exclusive lifestyle offering featuring warm and personalized service with amenities such as private reception and a comfortable guest lounge, the Fairmont Beijing provides the finest in amenities and comforts. Inlaid Mother of Pearl headboards, symbolic of good fortune, are located at the head of the luxurious designer beds with their 400 thread-count bed linen providing the ultimate in style and comfort.

The floor-to-ceiling windows provide panoramic views of downtown Beijing creating an airy and spacious feel while the spa-like bathroom, scented with the incomparable fragrance of London Perfumer, Miller Harris, bath products, heated floors and rainfall shower are pampering personified.

Each room also features cutting-edge technology with state-of-the-art system support, wireless connectivity with plug and go capabilities, the latest BOSE WAVE CD player with iPod docking station, 42-inch Plasma TV and DVD player and a multi-line IP phone, smart phone and cordless phone.

At a flick of switch the TV can be turned into a fully functional PC, complete with web browser and office tools such as Adobe PDF, Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and Powerpoint; allowing the user to browse from the comfort of the wireless keyboard.

Hospitality excellence is paramount to the Fairmont Beijing and full valet and 24 hour butler services are available on each floor. Fine dining in the privacy of their own room is available all day and small touches such as daily shoeshine and newspaper or the limousine service including Bentleys, BMWs and Rolls Royce provides guests with an engaging and memorable experience.

For the ultimate in relaxation a visit to Fairmont Beijing’s Willow Stream Spa, provides the ideal sky-high level rejuvenation experience. Spanning three levels and 2,000 square meters, the spa offers guests everything from luxurious treatments to relaxing fitness and lounge experiences.

Fairmont Beijing will also offer innovative dining options, each of which will be an individually unique experience created by their team of talented Chefs under the helm of Executive Chef Patrick Duff.
