Following an extensive remodelling effort, the Gran Melia Colon hotel re-opens its doors tomorrow in Seville. The grandiose and luxurious five-star hotel is housed in a spectacular seven story high-rise located in the in the heart of the city, within short walking distance of main historical sites such as the famous bullfighting ring, the Real Maestranza.
Located in Seville's old quarter, the hotel has 189 rooms that have been transformed into unique works of art. Maintaining historical and cultural relevance, as well as traditional Spanish details, was a priority in the design and played an influential role in the creation of the new, luminous interior. The Gran Melia brand's philosophy of timeless luxury with an avant-garde flair is noted in every corner of the hotel, while still allowing the hotel's unique, local personality to come through. Artfully combining tradition, history and culture, the hotel serves as an ideal home for leisure or business, nightlife or day time events, and intimate fine dining or relaxed entertainment.
Always looking to offer truly personalized service to their guests, Gran Melia Colon, like all Gran Melia hotels, offers a boutique hotel within the hotel, known as "RedLevel." With 43 luxury rooms, spread out across seven floors, guests of RedLevel are welcomed by a personal concierge and private butler. Perks for RedLevel guests include VIP treatment when dining at the hotel or at the Spa, in-room Nespresso coffee machines, complimentary aroma-therapy products, private check-in, and access to the RedLevel Living Room, an intimate lounge. The RedLevel client will have access to a business center with high-speed internet connection twenty-four hours a day.
An important highlight that makes the Gran Melia Colon a unique experience is the reopening in March of a true Sevillian classic: El Burladero. Reborn as "Burladero, Tapas & Tintos by Dani Garcia," the restaurant reopens, after its brief closure for renovation, with the two Michelin star Chef Dani Garcia at its helm. Dani Garcia drew from his Andalusian heritage to design a menu that highlights Spanish cuisine deeply rooted in local tradition. Located on the ground floor with direct access from the street, Burladero will soon be the new hotspot for locals and international travellers alike. In addition, the hotel offers YHI Spa, a state-of-the-art business center and "El Tendido" bar, Seville's new place to meet with friends and family.
