The luxurious new Grand Del Mar in San Diego has joined Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI) as its newest member. ALHI provides corporations, associations, and independent planners dedicated national sales services for its 120-plus Four- and Five-Diamond/Star quality member hotels and resorts for meetings, incentive programs, conventions, and exhibitions.
“This new Five-Diamond/Star-caliber resort that has a focus on groups, is an exciting new California option for meeting professionals and incentive specialists,” said David Gabri, president and CEO of Associated Luxury Hotels. “The Grand Del Mar combines the elegance and ambiance of an Old-World Mediterranean estate with incredible canyon views, first-class meeting and function options and facilities, picturesque outdoor venues, a wealth of recreational options including world-class golf and spa – all with impeccable service standards. It really is an outstanding new destination for any planner considering a program on the U.S. West Coast.”
The Grand Del Mar joins such other prestigious ALHI members in the San Diego area as the renowned Hotel del Coronado, the impressive La Costa Resort and Spa, and the luxurious Loews Coronado Bay Resort & Spa, plus several others in California.
The Grand Del Mar has been receiving impressive accolades since it opened in 2007, which includes being named the #4 Mainland U.S. Resort in Condé Nast Traveler magazine’s prestigious “Readers’ Choice Awards,” and receiving AAA’s highly-coveted Five-Diamond rating for its signature restaurant Addison. Set amidst San Diego’s scenic Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve, the resort boasts exquisite Mediterranean-style architecture, and 249 luxurious guest rooms (including 31 lavish suites) that provide stunning views of the canyon or the majestic golf course.
The resort offers more than 20,000 square feet of meeting space (which includes an ornate 10,000-square-foot ballroom), private dining in the working wine cellar, and lush outdoor locations. Additional offerings include a Tom Fazio-designed championship golf course, a Renaissance-inspired spa, six dining venues, four pools, and two tennis courts. Groups also can take advantage of 37 miles of hiking, biking and horseback riding trails in the adjacent canyon preserve, and can enjoy nearby beaches, and nearby activities like snorkeling, scuba diving, and boating. The resort is just 25 minutes from San Diego International Airport.
With a diverse luxury portfolio of more than 88,000 rooms and suites and 9.2 million square feet of meeting space, ALHI serves as a dedicated dues-based National Sales organization that enables planners to gain reliable one-call access to its outstanding member hotels and resorts that specialize in meetings and incentive programs requiring from 10 to more than 5,000 rooms.
Member properties include extraordinary meeting and incentive resorts, incomparable city hotels, exclusive smaller hotels, golf resorts, historic and landmark properties, island destinations, resorts with spas, properties in international destinations, and hotels with gaming and entertainment.
