Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) has lauded the success of the Business Travel Show 2008, held at the Madinat Jumeirah Arena from 20-21 October, as it showcased – for the first time at the event - Abu Dhabi International Airport’s premium hospitality facilities for business travellers, including its ‘Golden Class’ service.

Travellers who opt for Golden Class will experience faster check-in through dedicated Golden Class counters, with fast track access throughout all airport formalities before they proceed to the first class lounge where additional facilities are provided at preferential rates. As well as speeding through the airport, travellers will be able to make use of the fully-equipped business centre with its professional secretarial assistance. Preferential rates are also available to Golden Class customers for limousine services and fresh flowers.

UAE driving license holders can use the Golden Class service to effortlessly obtain an international driving license, providing only their valid license and two passport sized photographs.

Sheikha Al Maskari, ADAC’s VP of Corporate Affairs, said:

“Business travellers have different needs from holiday makers, and with our priority check-in and clearance and first class business centre, combined with our shopping and leisure facilities, we have made sure we cater to both.

“Because Golden Class is a service offered by Abu Dhabi International Airport, its benefits are available to all arriving and departing travellers, regardless of their class of travel. Golden Class makes the potentially most stressful part of travelling comfortable and enjoyable.”

Steve Green, Head of Hospitality, added:

“Golden Class at Abu Dhabi International Airport offers both arriving and departing travellers, who opt to pay for the service, the effortless comfort and luxury associated with premium hospitality in the Gulf irrespective of their class of travel.

“Travellers who pay for Golden Class experience faster check-in though dedicated Golden Class counters and priority luggage clearance before they proceed to the first class lounge where additional facilities are available at preferential rates,” he pointed out.

ADAC exhibited at the show as part of its ongoing effort to market its airport facilities to the business travel market.

Abu Dhabi airport already offers an extensive range of hospitality facilities for both its business and leisure travellers. There are several exclusive lounges, such as the VIP Al Dar lounge with private Majlis available for VIP guests and corporate hospitality; the Al Ghazal lounge, which offers internet stations and free Wi-Fi as well as showers, food and bar facilities; and the convenient Al Dana lounge.

In addition, the Airport Hotel and Lounge comprises of 40 bedrooms, a mosque, health club facilities, a lounge with hot and cold food options, internet stations, laptops, and free Wi-Fi, as well as TVs and magazines.

ADAC has developed Abu Dhabi International Airport to become a world class gateway to the UAE as it brings together over 40 airlines, flying to nearly 70 destinations worldwide.

With safety and security at the heart of its operations, it continues to grow and increase its services to customers and business partners. Committed to meeting the needs of a growing city and the wider community, ADAC is concurrently expanding and improving its second airport, Al Ain Airport, and developing a dedicated corporate jet-only facility in the centre of Abu Dhabi City, the new Abu Dhabi Executive airport at Al Bateen.
