Hyatt Hotels & Resorts and R&F Properties Co., Ltd. have announced the signing of an agreement for Hyatt to manage a luxurious new 354-room hotel in Chongqing, the most populous city in China.
The site of the 27-story Hyatt Regency Chongqing is in the Jingbei District, the city\'s new Central Business District. The hotel is part of the prestigious Ocean Plaza, a multi-complex development that combines shopping, offices, and various dining and entertainment experiences.
Designed by Chicago-based Goettsch Partners, the architects of Grand Hyatt Mumbai and the newly opened Grand Hyatt Guangzhou, Hyatt Regency Chongqing will offer 354- guestrooms that blend contemporary design with elegant details. Features of the hotel will include a luxurious spa as well as extensive meeting and banquet space. Five fine dining and entertainment outlets will also be offered along with a comprehensive shopping arcade featuring the latest brand name retailers.
Hyatt Regency Chongqing will be the third R&F Properties-owned hotel in China bearing the Hyatt name. Hyatt manages Grand Hyatt Guangzhou, which opened in April 2008, and will manage Park Hyatt Guangzhou, slated to open in 2011.

Currently, Hyatt operates 11 hotels in Greater China, including Grand Hyatt Beijing, Grand Hyatt Guangzhou, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, Grand Hyatt Shanghai, Hyatt on the Bund, Grand Hyatt Taipei, Hyatt Regency Dongguan, Hyatt Regency Hangzhou, Hyatt Regency JingJin City, Hyatt Regency Tianjin and Hyatt Regency Xian, with an additional 15 hotels under development.
