Marriott Wardman Park has completed a comprehensive revitalization, a $100 million capital investment by its owners. With 195,000 square feet of flexible convention and exhibition space, the 1316-room property is the largest convention hotel in Washington, DC and a premier destination for meetings and world class events. The fresh new look and feel to the guestrooms, meeting space, lobby, restaurant and bar offer the high-tech and high-style that frequent business and leisure travelers require. Situated at 2660 Woodley Road at Connecticut Avenue, NW in DC’s Woodley Park neighborhood, the hotel is owned by The JBG Companies and is managed by Marriott International.

All guestrooms are now ultra-adaptable equipped with a 32-inch high-definition LG® plasma screen television and Marriott’s proprietary plug-in panel (www.plugintomarriott.com) that provides guests with multi-tasking abilities through versatile multimedia usage. For example, guests can plug-in their own laptop and the television screen can be split so guests can watch TV while checking e-mail or researching on the Internet. Or, to relieve stress guests can plug-in in their own iPod or MP3 players and listen to music through the TV’s high-def speakers. Guests can even plug-in their digital cameras and personal DVD players to preview photos or movies. Other in-room amenities include Bath & Body Works® Energizing Aromatherapy products, mini-refrigerator, coffee maker, iron with ironing board, and HDTV offering 64 television channels.
The guest rooms feature Marriott’s Revive® bedding with 300-thread-count, cotton-rich, white top and fitted bottom sheets, plusher mattresses, softer linens and more pillows. The style of the new room conveys timeless sophistication that is warm and inviting. The look is clean and crisp with simple forms, straight lines and uncluttered surfaces. Wheat and red tones are complimented by an ample use of rich cherry wood, and upscale touches create a sense of luxury and comfort, with more stone, glass and chrome finishes. Elegantly appointed bathrooms feature warm brown cherry millwork and ample granite countertops and spa-like showers.
The hotel’s 195,000 square feet of well appointed meeting and exhibition space is comprised of a 95,000 square foot exhibit hall, the 30,000 square foot Marriott Ballroom, 49 flexible breakout rooms and two private executive boardrooms. In addition, the new Thurgood Marshall Ballroom offers 10,000 square feet of elegantly appointed and unobstructed pre-event and ballroom space required by high-end social business as well as the flexibility demanded by associations and corporations. Technological capabilities include Wifi in all meeting rooms and comprehensive audiovisual facilities. An onsite FedEx/Kinko’s is also available to meet guests’ needs.
The hotel’s new signature restaurant, Stone’s Throw, offers guests a refreshing take on the modern American steakhouse, and a seasonal menu that boasts the region’s finest ingredients. Ideal for private dinners and social gatherings, the restaurant accommodates 281 people and features an interactive chef’s table and four private dining rooms. Also, guests can enjoy traditional pub fare at Harry’s Pub, start the day with a latte at our full service Starbucks®, or grab a sandwich at Woodley Café. The brand new energetic lobby bar and lounge features a 40-foot bar, flat screen televisions and ample seating options that encourages social business and is ideal for business travelers to unwind or hold impromptu meetings.
Marriott Wardman Park has multitude of fitness options that allows guests to keep up their regimens while away from home. Guests can take a scenic run through the nearby Rock Creek Park, swim in the heated outdoor swimming pool or use the new 3,000 square foot fitness center with state-of the-art equipment, a new “Cardio Theater,” his and her saunas and steam rooms.
Built in 1918 and nestled on 16 beautifully landscaped acres in Northwest Washington, DC, the Marriott Wardman Park is one of the city’s most prominent and historic hotels. The hotel is within walking distance of the National Zoo and close to the downtown central business district, tourist attractions and National Airport.
