Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE: MAR) was recognized by LATINA Style magazine as a “50 Best Companies for Latinas to Work For in the U.S.” This is the tenth consecutive year that Marriott has been named to this highly esteemed list, and additionally was named one of the top 12 companies on the list.

According to LATINA Style, this annual evaluation sets the standard for Corporate America’s sensitivity to Latinas’ needs and goals in the workplace and identifies corporations that are providing the best career opportunities for Latinas in the U.S. More than 800 of the most prominent corporations in the U.S. were included in the extensive search. Among the principal areas of evaluation are: number of Latina executives, mentoring programs, Latina board members, educational opportunities, alternative work policies, dependent/child care support, employee benefits, women’s issues, job retraining, and Hispanic relations.

David Rodriguez, executive vice president of global human resources for Marriott International said, “Our commitment to diversity in the workplace continues to be stronger than ever. At Marriott, we recognize and leverage the unique talents and strengths of employees who come from different backgrounds and perspectives. We continue to reach out to Hispanic communities and open doors for Latinas at all levels.”

As part of Marriott’s commitment to diversity and women’s leadership, the company regularly conducts women’s leadership conferences, offers tuition reimbursement and provides alternative work arrangements and a national directory for discounted childcare.

This recognition reinforces Marriott’s commitment to diversity, which focuses on four key areas: workforce, customers, suppliers and owners. Recently, the company celebrated the groundbreaking of its first Hispanic-owned hotel in Washington, D.C., as a part of its diversity ownership initiative.

The company’s efforts have been recognized by a variety of publications and organizations:
