Hyatt Regency Islandia Transformed into Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina, Opening Scheduled for Fall 2007
Effective today, Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina becomes the official name of the former Hyatt Regency Islandia.
The $65 million renovation of San Diego Mission Bay's landmark 17-story waterfront hotel is underway, signaling the much anticipated resurgence of the seaside community. The transformation of the hotel to the coastally chic Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina promises to bring a fresh feeling of luxury and excitement to an area known as the place in San Diego to conquer the waves, dig your toes in the sand, or enjoy exhilarating bayside recreation.
Scheduled to be completed in the fall, the reinvented hotel will feature an eco-friendly luxury spa, a signature waterfront restaurant and poolside lounge, 430 redesigned guestrooms and suites, a health club overlooking the marina, a new pool deck with three swimming pools and multiple waterslides, and verdant landscaping.
"The new name combined with the multi-million dollar enhancements underway will elevate this property to a new position in the market," said Mohsen Khaleghi, general manager, Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina. "Ocean views, water sports and a central location -- Mission Bay encompasses everything people travel to San Diego to experience and our transformed property will complete the package for business and leisure travelers, as well as visitors from our own backyard."
The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina is located at 1441 Quivira Road, San Diego, California, 92109.
