Golden Tulip Hospitality Location Information Available with Tele Atlas’ Brand Icons Program for Location-Based Applications
Golden Tulip Hospitality and Tele Atlas are proud to announce the signing of an agreement allowing all Golden Tulip hotels, Inns & Resorts locations around the globe to become available on Tele Atlas digital maps through its Brand Icon Program.
Through this agreement, the hotel location data from Golden Tulip’s Central Reservations System (Goldres) will be made available to application developers working with the Tele Atlas’ Brand Icon programme, ultimately assisting consumers on locating and navigating towards the hotels with ease.
Hans Kennedie, President and C.E.O. of Golden Tulip Hospitality Group comments, “I am fascinated at the pace at which technology is evolving. Our hotel locations digitally plotted on Tele Atlas maps will offer many guests an added service even before arriving at their hotel. We are proud to choose partners that contribute in the technological evolution of the hospitality industry.”
Jack Reinelt, Tele Atlas’ Managing Director and Chief Operating Office of Europe, Middle East and Africa adds: “We’re excited that leading brands such as Golden Tulip Hospitality Group are participating in our Brand Icon program. Together, we are further enabling end users to accurately and conveniently find what they seek most from their content rich, personalized location-based applications and mobile devices.”
“This is the first step in location-based technology integration for the hospitality industry.” says Riko van Santen, VP Electronic Distribution & ICT of Golden Tulip Hospitality Group. “Of course the next logical step is the direct booking and confirmation process through GPS-enabled devices. As handhelds devices and automotive navigation systems become mainstream, this platform offers new opportunities for marketing and direct sales.”
Tele Atlas Brand Icons enhance Tele Atlas-powered navigation systems by visually representing the points of interest (POIs) of participating businesses as instantly recognizable logos to help mobile consumers to accurately identify specific brands of interest. Through the program, these branded icons are available for digital map application developers to incorporate into personal and in-car navigation systems and mobile, wireless and Internet map applications.
Golden Tulip joins leading consumer brands such as McDonald’s and Bank of America, which have partnered with Tele Atlas through its Brand Icons program to deliver branded POIs for the most popular financial food, gas, lodging, recreation and retail establishments.
